Sister Sledge perform 'As' from The Jeffersons
Ойын-сауық
No Copyright Infringement intended: Trust Norman Lear and his phenomenally edgy, forward thinking genius to catapult ‘Sister Sledge’ (as a group of up and coming newbies) into a cold, foreboding, jaw droopingly racist, all-white country-western bar on The Jeffersons! After a shaky start, this gifted foursome manage to turn even the clubs most Neanderthal cave-men into pussycats! If only life were that simple. Enjoy this friends, also let’s share belated, heart-felt thanks and condolences to ‘Sister Sledge’ band-sister Joni Sledge and her family. Sadly, Joni passed away at only 60, in 2017.

RIP Joni (1956-2017). She’s in the green.
Love this cover of "As".
I LOVE their harmony here! I still have this on VHS somewhere, lol.
Sister Sledge, 4 Beautiful Ladies and they are so Talented, I still listen to their music today, and their music will be around for a long time, Thanks Ladies!!!!!!!!
I remember this episode when Sister Sledge did a live performance in front of those rough cowboy bigots in that honky-tonk club.

On the Jeffersons? Yes I get it as I live in Texas but we gotta get the word out that we are all human in 2023 (no from day 1 would've been better).
Pure gold
After, hearing them perform this song on this episode of the Jeffersons....I *NEVER* forgot it. Can you hear God singing this song to the world through them?❤
R.I.P. 🪦 Joni Sledge

I love their music. Just so happened to be watching The Jefferson's on Antenna TV. What a treat to see them in their grace and beauty.
I remember seeing this episode as a kid. So glad it's here on YT. Such a great moment.
SISTER SLEDGE...WERE THE BRAXTONS...BEFORE THE BRAXTONS BECAME THE BRAXTONS! YOU DON'T SEE TALENT LIKE THIS ANYMORE.

Theu played the 'Satin' sisters.
(None of that Militant stuff)!! Only George, Archie or Sanford could deliver that line.
