I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (Jan. 2, Christmas 2), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church and played this as the opening hymn. However, it was to the tune, REGENT SQUARE, composed by Henry T. Smart, 1813-1879. And the refrain is "Come and worship, come and worship, Worship Christ, the newborn king." It is #275 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.

In the United States, the hymn is today most commonly sung to the tune of "Regent Square" by Henry Smart.[1] In the United Kingdom, however, the hymn came to be sung to the French carol tune "Iris"[2] (Les anges dans nos campagnes, the tune used for "Angels We Have Heard on High") after this setting was published in the Oxford Book of Carols[1], except that the "Gloria in excelsis Deo" refrain is sung in place of Montgomery's original "Come and worship Christ the new-born King' refrain.

Dillon Chavez Both of you are correct. The hymn is sung to two tunes. In the US we tend to hear a piece titled Regent Square used. In Great Britain they tend to use the French carol which is also used for "Angels We Have Heard on High" I like both. In fact I've heard both so many times it's hard for me to tell them apart. This has the "In Excelsis Deo: refrain substituted for Montgomery's original ... another twist.

If you are listening to this stunning rendition, wondering if there is a Jesus- He is real. He's complete, tender love and He wants to know you. Look for Him and you'll easily find Him.
cette chanson est une chanson française traditionnelle qui date du XVI siècle ou XVIII siècle, plusieurs versions (paroles surtout) sont connues voila pourquoi vous ne la reconnaissez pas
The video is mistitled. This is NOT Angels from the Realms of Glory, but rather Angels We Have Heard on High.
Oh, stop. Don't try so hard, anyone can look stuff up just to create a discussion. It's music, it's beautiful, just let it be.
You, and the producers, are correct. Sarah apparently isn't as familiar with this carol as she thinks she is.
Is there a black Mormon choir?
this is mistitled. It's not Angels from the Realms of Glory, but In Excelsias Deo (spelling off, I know)

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir rewrote the song in a sense compiling the version of that song you mentioned above with Angels, from the Realms of Glory and with bits Angels, We Have Heard On High

Little plus : In French, the Carol is named "Les anges dans nos campagnes" (wich means "Angels in our fields")

Um, this is not Angels From the Realms of Glory... It's Angels We Have Heard on High. Totally different song. I see that others have commented on that, as well. Perhaps you should take the time and correct this glaring error?
a siete personas no les gusta esto por que sera?

This is not Angels From the Realms of Glory: it is Angels We Have Heard On High.
Celine Dion sings the Titanic theme
This is not angels from the realms of glory is it? Sounds like angels we have heard on high?
Its just amazing and great but I wonder when in Europe will be forbidden, same as Christmas and Jesus, etc. just to don't "hurt" refugees...

+Ashia lmao Never forget Every year we sing these kind of cantics (or idk how you call it in English) with me church
Okay, that is *not* Angels from the Realms of Glory. That's Angels We Have Heard on High with the lyrics messed up. *Why* do they find it necessary to do that??? They are 2 separate and distinct songs. The *real* Angels from the Realms of Glory is becoming *hard to find* because of this ridiculous nonsense.
Oik
really, girls, get over yourselves. Look stuff up. The distinctions are already out there; there is no one speaking about you. Let it go, or can't you?
