I love your videos. I was looking at this older video for swatches. This formula has hyaluronic acid in it. My dermatologist most people do not know how to apply HA. He told me the correct way to use anything with hyaluronic acid in it is to ALWAYS wet you skin first, then apply the product. HA is a humectant. HA molecules draw water to it and holds on to it (hence the plumping claim). If you put this lipstick on dry lips/skin it will suck the water out of your lips/skin making you feel slightly dry. If you apply to wet/damp skin, it absorbs the surface water and holds it on your lip. This lipstick will feel much better if you wet your lips first. Balms (like phyto shine which is soft) can add moisture to the product eliminating the need to add water. To keep the regular lipstick type formula, they could not without changing the texture. So wet (lick) your lips before applying.

Selfridges doesn’t have these shades but the ones they have are on sale right now.

I just came upon this old video and I absolutely love what you have on your eyes. Do you remember what it is? I wonder if you can do a video on toppers, the ones in quads, quints and palettes, as well as single shadows, cream and liquid shadows and which ones are stand-outs for you, if you can make some generalizations as to which lines of products make the best toppers, Tom ford quads, Dior quints, some cream shadow lines, etc.?

Hi Lexi, what is your absolute favorite lipstick brand formula in a satin finish?

That is such a hard question! I don't have a die-hard favorite where nothing else comes close but if I had to choose, I would pick the Chanel Rouge Allure formula for a classic satin and the Chantecaille Lip Chic for a more balmy lipstick. The Guerlain Rouge G satin formula is up there too. I have a monthly series idea that I am thinking of starting in the new year that will help me really narrow this down better though. DM me on instagram if you want to hear about it and you can let me know what you think.

This shade is gorgeous on you....I quite like it.

@@LexiJong thanks- I’m torn right now about this or the Chantecaille lip chic in Hyssop.. are these as moisturizing? I’m looking at the Sisley blushes also- ( because of the sale) would you say the new formula is as nice as the L’ Orchidee blush/highlight formula? Thanks!

@@Loralarify i don’t have the orchidee blushes but i think i am going to order them. From my understanding they are completely different and the orchidee is more of a sheer highlighting blush whereas these new ones (my favorite formula now!) have more of a creamy gel powder texture that melts into your skin for a seamless look even on mature skin. As for the lipsticks, these are moisturizing for a traditional looking lipstick whereas the Chantecaille have more of that lip balm texture so the finish is glossier. I think the Chantecaille is more moisturizing on the lips but they are also more sheer so it depends what you are looking for. They are both two of my favorites!
