SIRJANA-2024: Threads of
Simultaneity
On behalf of the entire Sirjana College of Fine Arts family and on my own, with extreme delight I'm here to welcome you all once again to this grand annual Show SIRJANA-2024.
This Exhibition known as SIRJANA series that was initiated in 2018, has remained a regular event and an integral part of our annual academic calendar - since then.
The Show seeks to reflect and reveal the creative explorations being made by the faculty members of the College. Here again, the Show is a grand panorama of exquisite artworks, all replete with diverse thoughts and forms - participated by twenty-nine artists associated with the College in different capacities. And we've chosen to describe this edition of the Show as SIRJANA-2024:
Threads of Simultaneity.
As a special feature of the event, SIRJANÃ-2024 has sought to present a unique compendium of four eminent artists of the country - with a special focus on the highlights of their long art-journey, and the important visible contributions they've made in the making of Nepali Art, today. Whats remained more important and interesting is the fact that all the artists here chosen have had continually remained associated and contributed, in their respective ways and capacities, since the early days to recent times, in leading the College to the present stage. As a token of respects for their valuable roles, the eminent artists for this special segment Show are Shashi Shah (Principal: 2001-2010), Krishna Manandhar (Principal: 2011-2017), Batsa Gopal Vaidya (College Management Committee Chair:
2016-2020) and Madan Chitrakar (Principal:
2018-2022). Each of them has made significant contributions not only to the Sirjana College of Fine Arts, but honestly speaking, to the entire Art of Nepal. Coincidentally, the four artists mentioned here, have remained privileged to have their higher art education in the famed Sir J. J. School of Art in India.
Therefore, with a sense of pride and respect, we've described the special segment of the Show as 'Masterful Perspectives: the Epitome of Timelessness'.
Conclusively, it's my sincere hope and belief that the present Show would make a memorable art-event - not only as a window or reflection of our academic ability but would also help to enrich Nepali Art at large.
Welcome to SIRJANA-2024: Threads of Simultaneity, once again.
