He was enjoying his career and all of the limelight , but on some nights the dark curtain falls and he'd be sitting there alone and he'd reach for the phone and call his wife and she would pick up the phone and listen to all of the words he had to say. One day, there was noone to pick up on the other end. Sometimes we never know what we have until they're gone. I really hope he treated her kind when she was dying with cancer . They knew each other since they were 16 years old.

"it's a fact" seems to be his way of making an audience believe what he's saying. I'm sure he loved her or he would have jumped ship a long time ago, but it still does not take away from all of the affairs he's had in his lifetime. I think most superstars tend to live that lifestyle. With the greatest respect to his late wife - I find him so hypocritical. He had a 'wife', yes, but he also had decades-long affairs as soon as he became famous - imagine the sort of life the poor woman had. I was in awe of this man thinking how wonderful he was staying married to his wife and keeping the marriage wows "till death do us part". Not so now when I discovered in a write up about their lives. I'm quite surprised to learn this about Tom Jones because I always just assumed he was a womanizer with all his good looks and talent and opportunity...he must've had women throwing themselves at him all the time. Given his tremendous sex appeal it is very touching to learn that he had such a deep love connection with his wife...and for so long.

Cannot for the life of me understand, nor ever will understand how any man can claim to really love a woman and be sleeping with other woman repeatedly. Tom Jones was a real hound dog he slept with hundreds and hundreds of women throughout his career if not thousands. Have no idea how his poor wife was able to endure it all. In that respect Tom Jones was a complete arse hole. I really have to question his proclamations of love for his long-suffering wife. My personal opinion is Linda was just a convenience for him. After all they were married before anyone even knew who the hell Tom Jones was. He knew Linda wasn't there for his money. After he became famous and wealthy, he really couldn't trust whether any other woman was there for him or for what he had, and who he was by then. He screwed them all , but he wasn't going to marry them. Linda was safe and that's where he stayed.
