Sir Nicholas Winton's Son On His Heroic Saving Of 669 Children From The Nazis | Good Morning Britain

A new film starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Helena Bonham Carter tells the true story of Sir Nicholas ‘Nicky’ Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued 669 children from the Nazis. Nicky visited Prague in December 1938 and found families who had fled the rise of the Nazis in Germany and Austria, living in desperate conditions with little or no shelter and food, and under threat of Nazi invasion. It’s not until a live BBC television show, ‘That’s Life’, surprises him by introducing him to some surviving children - now adults - that he finally begins to come to terms with the guilt and grief he had carried for five decades.

So pleased his son immediately acknowledged the involvement of others...sadly those at the sharp end have been forgotten.. Doreen warriner Trevor Chadwick Margaret dougan, and chris maxwell.,and others who were arrested and executed...heroes all. I hope the film includes them all.
This is a must see film. Saw it yesterday. Everyone left the theatre in silence after it had finished

Some one made a comparison to oskar shindler, whom was a roug, but even though he was touched to compassion both acted from there own way of being both deserved respect for that. Shindler only ever made money was during the war. Pls exise the spelling mistakes

That would be because he saved them before war broke out out in Prague, once war started all the trains and borders were blocked. Gaza is already at war so all borders are blocked, no one can get in or out
