Sir Keir Starmer insists he is 'trustworthy' after launching six pledges to voters

Sir Keir Starmer has insisted he can be trusted to deliver his six pledges to voters - despite abandoning many of the promises that saw him elected Labour leader.

@@jeffreywyatt6425 To be fair, look at it from Starmer's POV: If Johnson can get away with his completely blatant lies about things that had already happened, Starmer should be able to get away with the the usual level of politician's lies: ie promises he has no expectation (or even intention) of fulfilling. Labour had an honest politican as leader, and they got rid of him. And Starmer is his replacement.

So ending zero hour contracts, stopping channel crossers, making houses more affordable and preventing rich landlords from buying up homes and renting them out to multiple not-well-off young people are not part of your first steps in power Sir Keir?.... Still not got my vote yet then.

The 2 major, traditional Parties have between them virtually destroyed our once great nation. So we desperately need to vote REFORM UK. They are the only party to offer a clear and positive strategy as to how the would address ALL the problems our once great nation now face (most of which have been created by the 2 main parties).

In my opinion , he looked a bit like a low level middle manager, delivering a plea to their staff to do better in a different way. The listening employees mutter "we have heard all this before" others are so bored they just tut. Great British energy, did they say they would use that title for the railways once upon a time. As for him not knowing about "isms" doesn't the Labour party set their agenda based on "isms"

When Orwell wrote the last few lines of Animal Farm, he surely, somehow saw the current political situation in his mind. The verbal gymnastics this man engages in, if he was sat on a bench with Sunak and his minions, he wouldn't look out of place. Telling the reporter what he thinks the British people "really" care about, is straight out of the Tory playbook. No, Keir, Beth is right, we do actually care if our so called leader can be trusted or not
