@@CohenBaklund the „Ulrich von Lichtenstein“ from a knights tale actually existed, just in a different century, he was a German knight of the 13th century

it called grappling its how knights in full harness often end a fight with each other

Ofcourse it does! It was one of the most efficient way to beat another full armored knight - bring him to the ground and then pierce his neck or another opened bodypart with a baselard (sort of dagger) or half-swording.

The issue here is that they are using a sword and shield, which wouldn't do much against this level of armor. Perfect for slaughtering peasants or bandits but not another fully armored knight or men at arms. So the way to defeat your opponent then would be to use a weapon more befitting to the armor, a mace or poleaxe for example, or wrestle them to the ground as you see in this video. What you don't see is the winner of the wrestle jumping onto their opponent and stabbing a knife through the eyeslits.

It seems like many people in this comment section do not realize that TeutonicPenguin & co. are not actually trying to kill each other. Of course they would not use maces or warhammers, or thrust their swords into the gaps in armor. They are fighting as knights would have done in a *tournament*.
