It was because of Bob's uncouth manners why England was stitched up by FIFA who have stitched other nations like Italy & Spain. After Heysel and Anglo clubs banned from Europe which I disagreed with some people wanted the England team banned from the WC in 1986 but FIFA stood by England. How did Bob repay this generosity by insulting a FIFA referee and saying he was not good enough to referee the match. KARMA

@@antoniosilvestro2494 I don't think i ever heard anyone refer to Sir Bobby Robson has uncouth.. Throughout his career he always displayed good manners and a pleasant disposition! And as far as crituquing a FIFA ref, well that's what Coaches and managers will do,if they feel it necessary.,He was not passing aspirations on the whole FiIFA Org,rather a certain individual! And as for the Ref who officiated the Argentine game, well he was a incompetent muppet..We all know how good Diego Maradona was,so he certainly didn't need any assistance from the officials..

Two legends that died too soon. Bobby Robson was a coach that never got the full credit he deserved. In Porto and Portugal he will forever stay an icon here. He is the man who made Mourinho who he is now, and inspired so many. Truly one of the best coaches there ever was. It's sad to see these two legends gone. May Maradona and Robson rest in peace, two people who helped shape futebol to what it is now🖤🙏

A man who didn't have to come from what country you're from to inspire a whole generation, define and motivate even during an era where the Ballon D'Or was only awarded to those who were European. Now just imagine if at the time the Ballon D'or could've been given to non-Europeans? He is now with God. A man who would put smiles in everyone's faces with his dance moves, talent, and the man no matter what team people supported would always make you wanna watch him. What a legend. And the only non-Portuguese player that my dad loved both the same age as well, a man who even inspired many generations to achieve the impossible. A man who would show the whole world what pride meant to ones country, nowadays you don't find this... a man who would always make you feel proud of your country just like he was to Argentina. A man who is considered a God... an idol... an eternal... a legend... the man who never fails to amaze anyone. A man who some say was born in the era where drugs were everywhere and no way in avoiding especially if you were famous or pressured. Imagine if drugs weren't such a big thing in this era? Imagine if it didn't blow up in this era? He would've achieved what many wouldn't be able to achieve in years... or wanted to achieve in years but didn't.. a man that would bring joy to his country and the world towards his country and his passion for futebol. There's only a few players that you could say, that have the same traits as him and certainly not Messi; he even admitted so himself. Ronaldo, Pelè, Iker, Inestia & etc. A man who inspired many.. what a story to tell.. now imagine if his movie actually finished... time may pass fast but history always remains. Terry Fenwick and Peter Reid and Terry Butcher kicked the crap out of Maradona for 90 minutes purposely and calculatingly as a method of cynical cheating intended to stop him from playing. In the heat of a split second moment Maradona instinctively scored with his hand. But for the rest of the 90 minutes he rode all of the dirty challenges and gamesmanship and he ran rings around England including his second goal which was just sensational. Maradona was the best player of all time and he should be remembered as such. His dribbling, his touch, his control of the ball, his passing, his shooting, his movement, and etc etc were sublime.

Huge respect for Bobby by they was no need for England to have started the Mexico world cup so poorly, it was clear, lineker and Beardsley worked up front not a target man like the terrible hateley, wilkins and hoddle did not work in midfield, there was a case for for trevor steven and hodge in wide midfield areas and playing four at back made more sense then leaving fenwick and butcher vulnerable if the full backs bombed forward...alll of this was evident from the pre-tourney friendlies in 1986 esp against the soviets..but also israel..

Funny thing is I bet Brian Woolnough wrote some terrible things about Bobby during his England management days!!What a legend though Sir Bobby still sorely missed 😢

Given enough time, when speaking to an Englishman about football, the 1966 World cup WILL be mentioned.

Maradonna wouldn't have tapped out of the tournament because of a broken wrist - he would've strapped it up and continued.

This Gentleman in 1990 and Michels in 1974 should have won the WC. Ps: Argentina was awesome but didn’t play France, Brasil or Denmark in 1986.

I watched that game and Argentina utterly dominated England. There was no way England were "unlucky". Maybe the coach should have started with John Barnes from the beginning and England may have taken it to extra-time. But England would never have deserved to win the World-Cup. Argentina were head and shoulders above all teams.
