I cry when I sing this song. It is for our people, it is for our elders, it is four our children, it is for mankind to be free. It is a good medicine song. My our Creator bring this knowledge to all men. To be free of hate, free of selfishness, free of evil, free of bad medicine. Our Creator has taught us this message through his son. ............. our Chief ... Cornerstone.

In 1859 my great great, great grand Father Peter johnsen, came to Nebraska, from Denmark, and married a sioux woman from the line of crazy horse. even though Im only 1 /32 Sioux, when I hear this song, I feel in my chest the power of my Sioux warrior, and can see with eyes, of the heart, what great warriors the Soiux were. Im 79 years old, and would love to visit my native American relatives land..

I married a native american. When I lived on the reservation it was some of the best years. No matter that we were poor. Because we were happy and content. The life was good. We worked hard. I learned their ways and beliefs. I prefer the native americans way of life. It is being content with oneself.

I’m well over 50% native, I’m from the land of Cuscatlan, present day El Salvador in Central America. It’s almost enchanting or motivating to learn my native language and traditions when I hear this song. I’ll represent my native Pipil and Lenca blood any day other than the Spanish blood. I’m Brown n proud 👊🏽. But I also have love towards all people. If you are native to any part of the americas, from the tip of Canada to the bottom of Chile, I consider you as my cousin. The white man couldn’t remove all of us ! WE ARE STILL HERE 🌈🍃🌿

From Alaska in Nahuatl Alachka to wrongly named nicaragua in Nahuatl NicanAnahuac including the caribean islands our ancestors called this land CEMANAHUAC. Our ancestors said if there is one drop of me (indigenous) in you, then weather you want it or not, weather you like it or not, you are my brother you are my sister, you are me, I am another yourself. We are not half nothing, you are made from a men and woman no different than me. When we said im 50% something means you have given up on our ancestors n give this goverments more power over us. with all due respect, and thanky you for sharing.

There's something very special in the Heritage of the songs and music of the First Nations People. Every time I hear native music I get goosebumps there is a heavy oneness within it. My Heritage came from Saskatchewan as well my father was born there to a white woman and a native man, I tried to do some background on my fathers side he once told me he thought we were of Cree blood but when I was looking for more information I was told that Cree and the Sioux become one Nation? My fathers family did not speak much of their First Nations Heritage I believe it had something to do with the way they were treated and I understand why now. Peace, love and happiness to all.

I believe my ancestors to be from Saskatchewan Sioux as well, it was my fathers side that was First Nations however he never talk about his culture or heritage. I remember visiting an Aunt who would talk in native tongue to him from tide to time but whenever we ask about it the subject would be change. I later learned that that because of the way the First Nation children were taken and taught the white man ways and it was very prevalent in the naming of the children, such the name I was given (Teresa Margaret) very Catholic very strong in their considerations. I do not believe that any of my family members were taken by the white man, but I don't know for sure because no one talked about it.

rthawk natanabah very true, I think most of humanity feels so despondent these days that we feel no connection to anything anymore. I’m Scottish born, lived the majority of my life in Australia, but I hear these soulful chants and songs, it makes me feel alive inside again. What a beautiful culture to be able to evoke feelings inside me again. Thankyou

The americans almost totally 'killed' our civilization..aka culture. But to reacquire what isn't your is self-deception.Pan -indoanism isn't an answer. and for this we..yes ''we'' should be embarrassed caught doing
