I'm scheduled for surgery next month. Super nervous but excited at the same time. Been dealing with polyps for 2+ years. So ready to feel better. Thanks for posting this video!!

Good luck with your surgery! It was life changing for me! Definitely worth the short and manageable recovery process.

Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

For me, they used an IV in my arm to put me under. It took less than a minute after they put it in my arm and I was out. You can’t stay awake even if you tried haha. It’s powerful stuff. They have an anesthesiologist in the room during the whole surgery who monitors you and makes sure you are “asleep” When you wake up it feels like no time has passed and all the sudden you are awake. (My surgery was about 5 hrs long) I woke up very sleepy though. It was hard to stay awake after I woke up. Surgery wears you out.

Thank you for sharing your journey. What do you think caused your nausea? The pain medication or just feeling dizzy? I am going to be scheduling my sinus surgery soon and am just trying to prepare as much as possible to make my recovery a smooth one.

The nausea wasn’t unbearable. I think it was just my body telling me to stay still and rest. Not sure of the cause but I think it’s common side effect of surgery/ maybe a pain pill side effect. Also good luck with your surgery! It has been life changing for me!

Ashley West thanks for asking! It’s been about 2 months post surgery and I can breath and smell so much better, I’m very happy with the outcome so far! How long ago did you get your first surgery?

@@thegapplife9707 2.5 years ago. I have also had a turbinate reduction in between. I got no results from my first sinus surgery. Found a better ENT at stanford university and felt better- breathing wise after turbinate reduction and septoplasty with him but my right side is still having trouble with infections. Are you still breathing well?

Ashley West it’s been 4 months now and I am still breathing really well. I’ve had no sinus infections/allergy issues since which is huge for me. My ENT has me on azelastine nasal spray, Flonase, and budesonide daily. I think that all is helping keep the spots where the polyps were removed at bay/helping them not grow back. We will see what my ENT says at my check up in November.
