Well the tech preview is out now and you can play it. But the sad thing is its on the epic game store...

you know you've played SOE a lot when you scrolled your mouse to zoom in at the beginning of the video.

That's what I did. Been playing this game since 2008. =)

I hope we’ll get planet crackers and star destroyers! I loved seeing a planet break apart in Stellaris

@@Leolifeless As far as planet cracking, they had that as the Vasari Loyalists' ability when you abandoned a planet, but it was only unique to their faction; it's likely that it'll stay that way, unless they intentionally remove it from the game for balancing reasons, because asset denial in Sins 1 was very much OP.

@@inderezzed8454 but the planet was not completely destroyed, but turned into a lifeless asteroid, they would make it turn into something like an asteroid field that cannot be colonized

I thought I saw torpedo cruisers shooting at warships.

I'm with you. Like, I get that the slow firey explosions from Sins 1 make zero sense in the context of space, but it did provide a more cinematic feel to ships and structures being destroyed. I feel like the current explosions don't convey the loss with enough significance. Hoping they dramatize it a bit in the future.

They need to have the ships break apart slowly with a final huge explosion.

I just learned today about the existence of SOASE 2. As far as I can see, it's just SOASE with better graphics? Or is there any new addition to the game mechanics?

Yes and no... they added actually gun turrets to the ships. They changed the research tab a lot. As for the time being this is a tech preview so most of things were ripped out of SOASE and put in place. But they have been changing things slowly. Newest update is the multi-player update but it's on the test version which I don't own...

@@Leolifeless Thank you for the info man. Hmmm, in that case I think I'll wait until I see a more polished game. I'm saving for Hogwarts Legacy right now anyways. Very good thing about the turrets, being independent entities like in the old Homeworld series, it opens new strategies and modding possibilities.

if you count how many sins games this one would be considered number 3 theres the original trinity then theres rebilion and then the new one comin out with higher graphics than the last 2 games. that i dought they want to start tryin to copy another games stuff since this game is unique in its own way even if you look at the 2 games stellaris clearly rippped some ideas from sins.

ngl I miss the slow splotchy explosions from Sins 1 even though it's completely unrealistic.

they said in the Q&A that they would like for the game to be on other platforms, but didn't give any time frame, so its probably going to stay on epic for a while edit: maybe full release if were lucky!?

As much as i'd like to enjoy this, I don't. I know it's going to be a rehashed original with better graphics, less overall features and probably a few cool but niche ideas to rope people in. It will never be what it once was. That's how the gaming industry is now with these kinds of games.

So basically Sins of a Solar Empire but with a newer engine and new unit meshes. Got it. Are they gonna bother to give us a campaign this time or is it gonna be a hard pass?

static combat suck why dont the ships move about in combat.
