I know this site is pointed at 6” wrists but anyone looking for a slightly larger version check out the 836, I’ve got a couple of 556 i’s but my go to Sinn is the 836 (19cm wrist) . Clean dial, legible, tegimented case, date at 6. Liked your comment on the PRX it is a good value proposition though.

I agree 1🎯🎯% about Sinn being the final boss of watch wearing, and it IS love/hate. I got my 104 St Sa (anthracite/H-link) last June. I have about 50 other watches, all of which i got bc something abouth them brings me happiness- i really like them. But the watch I wear out every day is my 104. Its great but its annoying, too, having dozens of bow dwellers collecting dust, especially 1-of-1 mods. But the Sinn dominates them. Typed while wearing my 104, browsing 556 content. I'm ordering my next Sinn this June from the US AD. Mine will be a 556i RS on H-link. I've had it in my cart more than once and have been watching 556 content for months, now...its TIME! Before the price creeps up again, +1600 USD now😐 Edit: Great vid, BTW. New sub. Keep up the simple, straightforward, gimmick-free content 👍

I never had a Sinn before and recently bought 104 from pre-owned market and I can completely agree to everything you have just said. The watch just made me question all other watches in my collection. Most of them are around 500 mark but just started to think do I really need them and have started to consolidate. Just a fantastic company and fantastic option for a true "one-watch collection". Thanks for sharing. Loved your insights! 😊

I have to agree with you. It is a fantastic watch and I own 3 out of the 4 colorful editions they released 2 years ago. However, I wish they improve their clasps and provide half links or some sort of micro adjustment because I cannot find perfect fit for my wrist size. Also, I wsih they use applied hour markers for the black version. It will really elevate the watch. For alternatives, christopher ward 12 is a strong contender, Monta noble, straum, direnzo and doxa sub 200 are just few examples of excellent watches in the same price range that offer excellent value and awesome user experience

The clasp is starting to show it's age when other competitors now have on-the-fly micro adjustments, like you mentioned the CW and even Monta. Both of which will be an upcoming video so stay tuned!

This is my first real watch i owned and my favourite of all time. It has such a robust and toolish case, a bracelet so comfortabel and a stunning, clean and endless deep black dial. Not a fan of exhibition casebacks but there is nothing 100% perfect i guess

I like Sinns, I have yet to pull the trigger, mainly because, unlike you, I have a 7.5 inch wrists, so I think that it'd be a touch small for me. You make the point about tegimenting, this watch does not have it and it does not have any of their other hi-tec features like moisture capture, but it does have negative pressure features. The other reason I won't get one is because the rival Damasko DS30 model is slimmer, even better made and has more tech features, including submarine steel, with better corrosion resistance, better crown system (they used to make case for Sinn) and better scratch resistance. However, the 5561 is more handsome and can be dressed up better. In the UK, you can buy straight from Germany, but you have to pay import and postage. We only have a couple of stores in the UK for Sinn, that is an issue for me, because I will never know if it suits me, because the stores are in excess of 400 miles away. The case looks nice, with it's brushed finish, but it does show up dings and scratches. So I am conflicted to the point that I will probably never buy one. It is definitely not underrated, there are so many reviews of this watch, but then I, like you, like Sinns and I am a keen watch enthusiast, so the reviews come looking for me! lol. Have a look at other Germans..... Damasko (DS30), Hanhart, Archimede and Laco. Good review. I fancy a Sinn U50, but it won't dress up like the 556, just wish I had slightly smaller wrists.

  • @SixiwWatches

I actually had the Damasko DS30, and to be honest it's a better watch than the Sinn, and it's cheaper. The slimness really shines through and the DS30 has a much better wearing experience. I really only sold it because I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse, given they were even more difficult to obtain than the Sinn a couple of years back. You're the only person I know who wished for a smaller wrists 😆 - wanna swap? I appreciate the love!

In my opinion the Sinn 556i is restrained and tasteful compared to the Rolex Explorer. In person the metallic numeraIs seem disturbingly big and gaudy on the Rolex, more like a pretend explorer. I have the Sinn 104 and keep thinking about the 556i and the U50.

I freaking love this watch. But I would also say that Longines Spirit 37mm would be a good contender for a three handed under 2,000USD. Sinn - for minimalists, Longines - for a little bit more bling.

Agreed. An in-house movement to compliment the incredible technologies Sinn has developed, but it seems only for their cases, moisture control and lubrication, would be the icing on the cake. If that was too expensive to develop then approach companies like Kenissi and use theirs, they are definitely a cut or 3 above Sellita. That for me would complete the Sinn statement. Still love their watches!
