These videos with Master Xu really fill a gap that is present today, with the Taiji theories presented on KZread. More please and thank you.

😎Excellent!Excellent Demo Master George Xu!In order for a practioner of Taiji Quan to use the single whip with hook punch method from wide horsestance with chest and both shoulders forward, they would need pull back further from the waist, rounding the chest, shoulders and arms extended forward while rounded slightly at the elbows instead extension out to the sides! Only then would they be protected and less vulnerable!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🍃🍵🍃

My teacher used to move like that, and I never could emulate it.

Can western boxing be adapted into qigong? If a western boxer did a preset choreography of movements that was the same every time - such as a catalogue of boxing combinations he wanted to memorize - and he slowed the movements down and eventually focused on flowing energy through his body while doing them, would that be as beneficial as Chinese qigong?

That’s a great question. I passed it on to Master Xu. Here’s he’s answer. “Yes, it is beneficial, but needs more art, such as low replace high, Dan tien breathing, internal replace external, yin and Yang balance.” That’s what he wrote back. I hope that makes some sense. Thanks for your question.

@@goldengateliontiger8972 Thanks very much. I actually asked this question on 15+ KZread channels and so far you're the only one who gave me an answer. The answer makes a lot of sense. Please thank Master Xu for me.

@@goldengateliontiger8972 Since our conversation, I've been trying western boxing as qigong and it definitely works. Years ago I used to do yang family long form tai chi every day, and I've been doing hatha yoga meditation on and off for about 18 years, so I'm very familiar with the energy side of things. Lately I've been doing regular boxing for fitness, and I wanted to know if I could use it for energy cultivation for meditation, and it really does work very well. I just thought you might like to hear the result of my experiment. Thank you for the encouragement. Health is worth fighting for.

Just my humble opinion regarding the looseness of the hands when not engaged. One time, when doing more kung fu sticky hands, I broke a finger (little finger from a kick) because I was too relaxed. I feel there has to be something in your hands. Just some thoughts.🙏

This is not the way you fight , it is only a concept. When you fight you adapt , improvise ....
