REVIEW: Van de Steeg's latest film, Sramblanta, is a master class in scenery and editing while simultaneously tackling the existential crisis of human existence. Are we the tiny log trapped between life (engine casing) and the protective shield of society (crash bars)? Can we truly travel through this world without bathing in the refreshing stream of risk and adventure? It is left up to the viewer to decide if crossing stream after stream will fulfill the wanderlust inherent inside each individual, or take the easy paved road and wheelie into the sunset. 9.5/10, as long as there is a sequel underway.

Not as heavy as a Honda CB750 that I used to use off road many years ago, that was pretty wild to trail ride with!

What’s the scoop on the extra gas where the side bag usually goes. That’s a nifty feature if you’re way back in the sticks. Cool video! I wish I could find trails like that near me, best I have been able to do are some good gravel roads.

How is that rotopax mounted on the pannier bracket? I have the same OEM bracket but cannot find a proper mount for a rotopax

I’ve been riding since I was about 6. Started with dirt and have had all sorts. Including shadows and Harley. Trips on DR650. It’s a Swiss Army knife of a bike. And I live the look. Has its quirks but you can’t the this performance and style anywhere else in my opinion.

@@MrVandeSteeg Currently have a DR650 (My second one) but hope to get something a bit faster and more stylish. Have had a Vstrom1000 and a KTM950ADV - preferred the VStrom. Kind of hoping (If I could ever afford the Scrambler) that the Triumph would be as good as the VStrom on rd and better than it off. Shame about all the electronic 'aides' but you can't get away from them these days. Cheers for your reply:)

@@actstuntcam sounds like you're doing proper research to dial in your ideal bike. I haven't taken a Vstrom for any length so I can't directly compare. The Scrambler is closer to a heavy dirt bike on road. Like a more powerful, better handling standard bike. I had a 76 Honda CB 750 for years. You can add a windscreen to the scrambler to help for the hwy but you kill the look. Regarding the electronics - the XE has "Off-Road Pro" mode that disables all the electronics. So you can rip it. Nice to have on the heavy bike though. It's come in handy a few times already.

Finally some real world adv snotty riding on a scrambler, I have been waiting to see a vid like this proving the scramblers can hack it with the likes of ktm 1090, Honda crf1000 and BMW gs850's! I am considering trading both my mt-01 and swm Superdual X for the 1200xe. Do any of you guys run a second set of rims with road tires for commuting or road trips?

Thx! These bikes are amazing and take anything you throw at them. There are many options for so-called 50/50 tires. Rolling MotZ on the back and TKC 80s on the front. You are in the same boat as a GS with tire choices. Multiple rims or your best shot at a single set of tires for your most often ride scenario.

Thanks! a mix - I was running MotoZ adventure rear & TKC 80 front - Have Pirelli Scorpion Rally on the front now and they are great as well.

How do we find this route?

Great vid. Is it me or are 2 of the bikes got yellow headlights? Bulb swap?

Thx! They have a yellow 'healing' film made for auto applications. Like a translucent wrap. Stock lights.

It looks like he took one of the universal plates, cut it and mounted the plate to the bars on the bike.
