I'm 54, married in my 20's, divorced in my 30's. What I can tell you with not a trace of doubt is it is so much better to be alone than with the wrong person. I'm single and fine with that. If I meet someone yay! if not, I'll be alright. No more bad relationships for me. =)

Before meeting my husband I always thought, “once I meet the one I’ll finally have that last piece of my life complete.” I look back and laugh now as life is forever evolving and one moment friend relationships are good and then they aren’t or work or family. I realized you have to find peace in the current moment and it’s okay for things to constantly change.

I’m 29 and I just ended a 7 year relationship with the person I thought I was gonna married. It has been a very difficult 3 months but watching this video gave me hope. Specially to start living life for myself and start giving all the love I gave to that person towards myself. Starting my 30s not as I thought I would be living them but I do believe the universe has better plans for me. Thank you Tara for always being such an inspiration ❤

I got married in January 2020 at the ripe old age of 43. I was comfortable, independent and never thought I'd ever meet a guy I'd want to marry. He came as a complete surprise. So enjoy your life Tara what's yours will reach you. The right one will come at the right time.

I’ve learned that when you really love someone the “honeymoon phase” never ends! Any time my husband and I are apart I always get butterflies and the biggest smile when we reunite even if he’s just coming downstairs to help me with the groceries! Also I was single for a long time and never felt it took away from my happiness 💕

I started dating my forever person at 30 after being single for like 2.5 years. I enjoyed that single time so much and felt so ready and so confident in who I was, and that's why I feel like the stars aligned when they did! There's absolutely no rush, and it's always better to wait than to settle!

I'm almost 44 years old, never been in a relationship and I use to envy my friends who got courted and into relationships, then married in their 20s, now a lot of them are either divorced or in the process of it, and I realized that there was nothing to envy there, you never know what's inside a relationship, so better to be alone, than with a partner and feeling lonely.

  • @mala890
    @mala8905 ай бұрын

I'm 65 and was going to give you all kinds of advice, but girl, you've got your sh!t together just fine. I truly believe that if you're not content and enjoy yourself, you'll depend/expect a partner to fulfill that. And that's not a partners job. When people say, "I'm bored, or there's nothing to do." I cringe. You've got to make an effort. There's a whole world out there. There's hobbies, interests, friends, self care, fresh air, cozy home, etc. You're a smart young lady who has a lot to offer Tara. All these dates and relationships taught you well. You know what you want, and you're not settling. You'll get married someday, then people will be asking, "When are you having kids?" LOL ❤

I love this series and I love the self love talk 😊 your advice can apply to people who are in relationships as well. I think it is important to spend time with yourself and work on yourself. Just because you are in a relationship does not mean you have to stop the self love. Go on dates with yourself, do something by yourself for yourself. Those things are still important. Thank you for making this video, it made me realize a few things I need to work on. Please don't stop sharing what you love to share. This was probably your best idea yet as far as videos. They without a doubt brighten my day when I get that notification. So thank you, and never stop being you.

I’ve learned that love is not hard, unless you make it hard. Once you start to see a pattern in behavior or a lack of movement in the relationship, it’s time to step aside and take care of yourself. It is not a failure if it does not work out like you had previously thought it would. Thank you so much for this Tara! ❤️

I admire so much that you're willing to put yourself first and wait. I see so many women settling with what they have so they don't have to start over again (and can stay on the "timeline" for marriage and kids). My Mom was in a toxic marriage for 30 years. He walked away one day and now she is stronger, healthier, and happier than ever. Wishing you the best on your journey!

Thank you for being you🫶🏻 I made it to the end and I also agree with all the points you made, coming off of a toxic relationship I learned a lot in the last few months that I had to tell myself not to believe in the relationship when in reality it was all trusting my gut so that really hit home. I also loved how you said if I can feel this way about the wrong person, how am I going to feel with the right one, I really liked that cause this past relationship has been really hard to get past. Overall such a good video, and watching them has truly helped me find ways to love myself. Going to start reading over the summer as well! Beautiful video shots of you cooking ! I looove to cook and bake and I really enjoy watching others during that process - the food looks amazing as always ❤ And as for the main topic of this video I definitely felt the pressure of having everything figured out by 30 - I got married at 21 and I had a kid just last year after almost 7 years of marriage - and omg the amount of questions I got about why I didnt have kid earlier is just crazy - the society pressure is so real - but everybody has their own timing - I am very happy that I got to focus on my career and traveling for couple of years before having kids - many people didnt understand my choices but whatever it is not their life - you are doing absolutely amazing things with your life Tara ! : you have great family, friends, career, house and you are traveling a lot - you should be very proud of yourself - and you definitely deserve a great guy and I know you will find one - but remember you are completely perfect by yourself - i need to sometimes still remind this to myself - no matters what happens in our life we need to love ourselves and treat ourselves as best friends ^^ because we freaking deserve it Ok that is it from me today Totally too long for a comment but oh well xD Have a great day girl !

This was cute. ❤ I’m 37 and have just recently learned a lot of the things you talked about today and I had to learn it through therapy. I grew up in an abusive environment so my concept of love was skewed, leading to more abusive relationships. But I’m finally getting things sorted out and I’m happy by myself! I do hope to find love but now I know I don’t need that to feel complete.

You are glowing! Being single never means being lonely and miserable. You've shifted the way I see Valentine's Day to a positive outlook.

Thank for this message Tara! Soooo needed. Especially for me as a 28 year old single that’s never been in a relationship. I put myself out there, and still no luck. Just not the right fit yet. But I have hope that I’ll be blessed with the right man one day

Your conversation about the toxic love hit home for me. As someone that was in and out of a toxic relationship for almost 7 years, like you said, you look back and you’re just sad for yourself. You truly do look past the negative because you are chasing the high of the good times you rarely have.. I actually wrote a book about my toxic relationship experience, I know during my relationship I felt alone because I felt no one understood why I was still with him, and I would never wish that feeling of aloneness onto anyone, so I wrote a book to help ease that aloneness someone going through that type of relationship may feel.

I've been here since your first studio apartment in LA when you were still at FIDM. It's so amazing to see where you are now and look back at where I was when I first started watching your videos

When you were talking about your 4 year relationship, I really related sooo much. I was with my ex for 6 years and he was the love of my life but our relationship was so toxic and I put up with so much stuff that I never would now. I learned so much by leaving that relationship and I am so so so much happier now :) thanks for sharing with us Tara, I really feel seen and understood.

Been married since 22 and with my husband since I was 18. Life and love gets better with age and I’m thankful for that. Self care and therapy is always important to us more then ever in our marriage. I enjoy your channel and I’m also a KZreadr. You’re very inspiring!!

My most wildy, exciting, and heart-pounding relationship was also my most painful and heartbreaking. It taught me so much, and I'm so grateful for that lesson because it allowed me to be ready for the right relationship.
