Singers: This Is KILLING Your High Notes
Музыка
Many singers struggle to hit higher notes in their voice.
Most of the famous singers you look at seem to be belting their faces off in order to hit those higher notes.
However, if you do that, you'll notice those high notes will be strainy and flat.
On the other hand, you may try just singing in falsetto up there. However that won't help you sing with power.
Today, I'll show you 3 proven exercises for hitting higher notes than you thought possible...

Puberty killed my high notes.
I love how he shows examples of what he's saying by singing them. Some instructors just say but not do. Thank you very much.
I'm a teen boy, and I am really good with my mezzo. All I do is to sing Vocaloid songs and try to sing them. Over time, I did manage to even reach the soprano-G

Did you hit puberty? If you did, did you use falsetto?

@@lightdropp well, I did hit puberty, and when I started, even my alto was really bad, but all I did to become good like I am now, was just to sing songs and try to improve or think about what or how I could do better with my voice. Puberty wasn't really a big deal for me, when it came to singing

Thanks again for this wonderful and helpful information. You always try to help us!
Omg it took me over a decade to get my mixed voice but that was all self taught. It’s funny tho cuz I was always super shy and stuff as a kid. Always wanted to sing and start a screamo band with my friends in highschool but we were all too shy to sing. Then I got a car and I was able to envelope myself in sound and not fear other people hearing me. After time I noticed I wasn’t using falsetto on the high notes. Still with me? Good. Using the same car radio technique I was able to screw around with different styles of screaming and now I can do good mid range like BTBAM and pretty decent high range like TFOT. Ok I’m done. Thanks for the video I’ll have to look out for more that fit my needs. I’m alright at high notes now but having these more legitimate techniques shouldn’t hurt.

i understand the shyness. i think MOST of us who loves singing have the same fears especially by being self taught..i always envy people who found their talent at a young age that they kind of grew up with it and everyone around them are supportive. it's not something you have to break the news for lol im still struggling but ive a few people who supported and give honest reviews and are my biggest fans..it helps the way you approach getting better and find your voice so much

@@mencot89 wow totally. I had this one kid thru middle school and high school that I was super envious of and he kinda shaped a lot of my indie side of music that I don’t remember much of but like he would bring up a band. And I’d go grab a cd and he was so pretentious and he’d be like, that’s the worst one. Or he’d have me get a specific one and I’m like I hate it. But he had the best voice and lyric writing talent and decent at guitar and bass. Took me like 5 years after high school to really get the mixed voice cuz I thought I had to do all that high shit in falsetto and got really self conscious as a kid when I wound up sounding like a wimpier version of a girl lmao. Idk. Thanks for the response I love hearing stuff like this. Glad to hear you are sticking with it!

You are totally right about everything you say in this video !! Top !!!!!
Sir Ramsey. Such good instruction. You give the why and that makes following your instruction with confidence easy.
Nice video you explained the right way to do it and make me improved a lot in my singing :)
Thanks always for the help ever since Sir Ramsey!
Awesome. Love your videos. Love the funny faces you make
Gotta say just by listening to ur rules and implementing my abilities increased amazingly
You remind of two well trained music vocalists I studied with in my youth, who addressed these same techniques. You want to stay on top of the note, to avoid going flat which comes with practice, and clear them with natural ease, as you've mentioned, to avoid *breaks*
This video is extremely helpful. I tried signing without going up and there was less strain and I was able to hit the higher notes without it sounding awful.
I just wrote a song recently about a guy that I liked who didn't like me back. I'm normally an alto, but I made the song hard to sing 'cause it starts low and then it goes high. So it's around the mezzo range which I'm trying to get better at. These exercises are helpful! Thank you so much! 🥰
I do the vocal warm ups daily but the 'gees' seem soo difficult i traded em with 'fee' today xD better connection! But does it work the same?

The "g" in "gee" also makes sure your soft palate raises, so it's extremely helpful

who watched this and so meany others and still is the same
4:00 - how do I know when to let the voice transition into head voice? This is the main trouble I'm having is like, I'll do the run once and flip at a different point every time.
Can someone help me please anyone. If I try to relax my muscles in my throat my voice goes hoarse and starts to sound raspy and it sounds terrible but it I tighten my muscles it sounds cleanish and I can go higher. And also when I try to sing mix voice I go higher in my chest voice but then I breaks and voice cracked then goes to the strong voice that I can sing very high and very loud feels like my chest voice but a lot higher. I’m guessing this is my mix voice but switching from chest to mic is not smooth and makes a pause and cracks for a second
question, if you are able to answer this ....because i've been unable to find any vocal teachers that talk about this and i think it would be helpful. what specifically is different & the same in the throat/mouth/breath support etc... with falsetto vs. mix vs. chest ...specifically falsetto vs. mix in the same register. Take an F#4 for instance Most teachers will only demonstrate the sound of it or use the adjective "breathy" -or talk about the cT / ta between a falsetto note and a mixed voice note. But, what do you physically DO differently (in the throat/mouth/breath support etc...) to make that happen? i can do both - BUT not on command in a live performance (where i need it most). would be helpful to know what i should be doing and not doing to make it happen. i hope that question makes sense. thanks!

I’m sry I have like 95% have no idea what ur talking about but from what I’ve gathered I think the answer is that for chest voice you try and control the air, but for head voice u push a little more (the breathy adjective) air out??? U sound like u know lots about music so u prob already know that but if case u didn’t…
3:18 nice comparison of falsetto and mixed voice, but you should have added the belting as well to make it complete.
when I lower my volume while going through my passage I'm able to sustain it the mix, if I don't I just break or jump to head voice. Is it a matter of getting better over time or am I just doing something wrong here?

You definitely just have to keep at it. It starts out as a very light sound if you have never fully developed it before. Whatever exercises you do, make sure that you have a bright, “buzzy” tone (think bee gees) because this tone is what I’ve found grows the voice the quickest and strongest
I am a baritone. Recently I tried to sing One Direction songs : 1. Story of My Life 2. What Makes You Beautiful In the 1st strong, actually I could sing the refrain part all with full-voice, but it needs good stamina due to the long sequence of the part. Whereas in the 2nd song, I could only sing some parts of the refrain with full-voice. I feel mixed voice won't fit those parts if it is applied.
Speech level singing I believe!

Indeed. Props to Seth Riggs.
Testosterone killed my high notes.
i can't believe you just showed me vocal chords I'm so disgusted
I find high notes easier when I focus more on the area below the Adam’s apple.
Love from India 🇮🇳
Can u give me an advice, I can hit e3 but whenever I try to sustain it sounds kinda breathy/not good. Also I don’t fell any strain. Help please
I still don’t get it hahaha
It's so hard to learn singing when you know you can't do it alone, but so much advice is contradicting and not consistent across all teachers, my teacher said raising the eyebrows is good because it "raises your soft palette" this man says it doesn't nothing, my teacher says to sing with a wide mouth, this other guy says to keep it small. It's so hard to know who to listen to, when you can't do it yourself and it's such a elusive skill to learn
Thanks for the reminder ;-) However I feel we are just about to start high notes, and find we're going back down again instead. Maybe we need to push higher ?
It all sounds like falsetto for me on the exercises
But if you are a low baritone?
Please sir I need some help in my voice..I sound better in my head than when I record it
You sound so sophisticated when you speak haha
Bro I’m one of those people who’s NOT A FAN of their voice. I’m a teen girl who’s at that age where my voice is “changing”? And my chest voice is to raspy and whiny, but my head voice isn’t loud enough and it’s too strained and high
“Just raise your eyebrows!” 🤣
🙏👋
I keep going into falsetto on the high end of the "ney" exercise, and when I try not to, I start sounding like a dying goat, and my throat hurts dammit.
Thats not the high im searching for, im talking about around 6th octave for males
how about low notes
Lol as soon as I started practicing MUM 👀 I felt some resentment and had to laugh 😆
Hey Matt! You should do a reaction video to Gigi De Lana

This scary thing from beginning of the video will come to me in nightmares 0_0

Ha, nay (written nee) is 'no' in Dutch. So all I hear is no no no no no no no 😆
