I love Matt so, so much. His voice is like melting butter. And in a group of 5 beautiful, charismatic performers, I find myself watching him 75% of the time.

I'm always so impressed by their arrangements. The tempo changes and transitions are ridiculous...

Kirstie really seemed to come through on this, she is gaining some confidence and that's great to see. Mitch, just yeah..mitch. lol They just sound amazing. I am still getting used to Matt. I miss the tone and soul reverberating bass of Avi. Matt's upper tones are so nice. He has such a smooth tone. I loved this one. So many songs in this. Love your reactions!

I too was totally impressed by this Evolution! And even though I love all of them, BUT KEVIN!! He just worked so hard in this song! Yes! They found their sound! That really shows! I’m pleased that you Love Matt now! A lot of people didn’t trust the process or trust that PTX would choose someone who was right for them! But just look and listen to them! They’re still perfect! I just saw them live in Dallas & Matt is amazing. His stage presence is just great & he and Kevin work well off each other. Scott & Matt also. I also just returned from PentaCon, also in Dallas (convention by fans of PTX for fans of PTX) and Scott & Matt both surprised us by popping up (since they were in Dallas & their parents were at/coming to PentaCon). It was amazing. Hopefully they will be announcing an international tour soon.

I can’t be the only one who seriously prefers Matt’s baritone voice to his bass. His lower range is good for sure, but it’s nothing extraordinary. It feels like he really comes into his own with those little solos, and his opening rap in Finesse when they sing it live.

MAProductions Exactly!! They’ve raised the key of most of their songs recently anyway to accommodate Matt’s most comfortable bass range; they only need to do it a tiiiiny bit more.

Yeah it’s a shame cause he’s not a true bass he’s a Baritone with a good lower range. But Avi was a Basso Profundo so it’s not fair to make a comparison of the two

Luke Roe Yep true. And, to be fair, for a natural baritone, his lower range is very good, but as a full bass? It’s a bit more meh. I feel like his energy makes up for it a bit though.

You guys are the BEST Pentatonix reactors - knowledge plus enthusiasm and genuineness- thanks for this one! This evolution was tough for me because I know nothing of Rihanna's music, so I really had no sense of how well it was done - waited for your response to decide ;-)

Kathy Santersero yes I agree! Marco and Ali are The Best Pentatonix Reactors. I too struggle with Rihanna’s songs, I only know a few of them, but - like Everything Pentatonix do - once you’ve listened to their version a few times, you start singing the song ‘their’ way and it becomes a new song. There is nothing discordant in their presentation, the whole thing is seamless! I love hearing them sing! 🤗

I was a bit scared when you said in your other video that you had to cut back on Pentatonix reactions after the Sing off...and the next day I get this notification! I never clicked so fast 😂👌🏻. ‘The girls must love him 👅😂😂’

I LOVE your PTX reactions and am going to miss them sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much :( but I will keep my eye out for when you do a new one :) And I had the same reaction as you when Matt started singing, it took me a second to realize it was him. I've watched some of their songs from their summer tour because I'll be seeing them live in less than a month and Matt is doing an AMAZING job and totally fits in, not just vocally, but with his personality as well!

Mitch’s transformation is due to the fact that he is now uninhibited. He has artistic freedom to let his light shine!

When I saw this video for the first time I was extremely impressed, more than I thought I would be. And yes I did the same thing when Matt was singing; it took me a few seconds to realize it then I had to go back and hear him again. Avi and Ben (their manager) did the search for Avi's replacement and it shows! ("the ladies must love him" 😆👅 😆👅 😆 👅)!!!!!!!!!!

I saw them in concert a week and a half ago. They did Bohemian Rhapsody and Daft Punk in person. The vocal “effects” are not effects at all-it’s all THEM. They did this as well. Incredible. And there was a part of the concert where it was just Matt and Kevin for about 15 minutes just doing a rap battle. Freaking incredible. I also have some videos from the concert I’d be more than happy to share with you. I was prepared to not like the concert, but I daggum loved it. And Matt was higher energy than Avi ever was. Interestingly, Avi (the oldest member of the group at the time) ended up being replaced by Matt (now the youngest member of the group).

Black Smoke Drumline Avi was Never the oldest member of Pentatonix (unless you mean an old soul). Kevin was (& still is) the oldest member - he’s a year older than Avi.

Black Smoke Drumline Matt's bass is boosted in the studio and his mic is turned up louder live, so they're not wrong tbf. It's totally fine that it is, especially considering that Matt's more a low baritone than a full bass, but I saw them in Dallas and it's not particularly difficult to tell.

Pentatonix just literally finished Ann amazing tour, and just the last few days have announced their new Christmas album coming out I think in October and it is very clearly Tim burton-esque as in Nightmare Before Christmas! They drop a new single today from the album called "Making Christmas", and it is unlike anything they have ever done before! I know you guys like Superfruit's "guy.exe", well, this song is full of BIG, DRAMATIC, SOUND! I feel like it's their first single off the album because the sound is appropriate for Halloween. It has a somewhat gothic feel. Blew my mind! .. Mitch even has a demented laugh going on in it! They announced their Holiday Tour, AND NBC is bringing the original Broadway cast of "Wicked" to a tv special... and Pentatonix are appearing in it! Exciting stuff just keeps going on since tgey dropped theur last album "Pentatonix Presents Top Pop Vol. 1". They had some fairly short videos shot behind the scenes and while on stage during their Summer Tour 2018 and titled it "PTXperience Summer Tour 2018" and there are 9 episodes I think? I wonder if you'd be allowed to react to those? You get to see a LOT of fun and interesting things on these. They're so weird! 😂 I love them! ❤️

Madison Foster, their transitions were rough, almost non-existent, in the last medley. But I realize now they put it out quickly to promote their album. It definitely wasn't a "formal" medley like their evolution releases. However, this medley was so much stronger. Also, I could hear Matt more in this one, and I'm not talking about his leads.

April Osen it is Bohemian Rhapsody - I believe that they reacted to that one - have a look through their channel, you’ll see the entire list of their PTX reactions!

One of the biggest improvements is Kirstie has a confidence that she lacked before doing the 'Kinky Boots' Broadway show. That confidence shows in her vocal performance. To me Matt will never be able to replace Avi. The new songs are arranged with his abilities in mind, but rearranging old songs for him, I think, would be a mistake. I fear going to a concert for the chance they make this mistake. Thanks for the reaction.

Great reaction, just not my favorite of theirs. Not bad or just, just my own opinion. Seemed like the mix was off and instead of blending, it was just............loud. Ah.....still good, because it's still PTX. lol
