There is never "too much" when it comes to Chet Atkins related stories and anecdotes. There will never be another musician with as much influence or more musical connections than Chet Atkins.

If the Grammy doesn’t fit, you must acquit. Chet knew what he was doing! Great story from Steve Wariner, CGP.

Steve is incredible. Chet was a great judge of talent and character. Steve is one of the purist musicians ever. What a great guy. I wish I was half as cool. 👍🏻😎

I, too, grew up listening to Chet. What set him apart was not only that he was funny, but also that he shared his arrangements so that young pickers could learn his style. Steve Wariner joins him in the group of musicians who encourage young guitar students.

Joe: I saw Chet at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall in Troy NY, Steve was the bass player. Chet featured Steve on a song or two and we found out that night that Steve was a special talent. Steve was big part of what I feel was a great era of country music. Let’s remember the talent and the quality of the songs in the 80’s. Steve Warriner, Ricky Skaggs, The Whites, The Judds, George Strait and Keith Whitley. All unique, all great. What the heck happened?

Awesome interview. Thanks Joe for all you do. Chet was a wonderful man. He was so willing to share his gift and help anyone willing to work for it. Steve Wariner is no slouch either. As ruthless and cutthroat as the music business is anyone who comes out the other end with the attitude of Steve and Chet speaks volumes of their character.

This is one of my many favorites of Joe's interviews. A friend of mine's son is starting out in the You Tube world, doing some interview stuff, I made him come hear and watch this with me. This is a master class in how it is done, Joe was great at it, He knew the most important thing, How to listen. People felt so comfortable around him, they were able to just get lost in there own stories. We miss you Joe, you were one of a kind.

I love these stories from Steve about Chet Atkins.! Still my favorite guitar player, but the times I've seen Steve on the Opry, I admire him and his voice & guitar pickin too. I've watched the video of steve & chet playing "Sails" on y.tube over & over. !! Steve sings and they both play. What a beautiful song ! I saw Chet one time back in the 90's ( when he had cancer ) ,and he wore a hat. I will never forget that concert, and I didn't want it to end.!!! Thanks Joe ! Great interview.! I'll subscribe !

Great interview Joe, Besides being a great guitar player Steve Wariner is one of the most content, happy people on the planet I think. If Steve's heart wasn't set on being a musician he could have no doubt been in the movies with his looks and personality. Like he said dream big,,,but,,,you have to put honest effort into whatever you are wanting to achieve and not back down. Thanks again
