She's a showperson on stage with her presentation and performance as if she own the original song. Her performance is flawless and very alive engaging the audience to her singing style.❤

KZ is currently a vocal coach on the 3rd season of The Voice Kids Philippines

The intro paints the emotions of a woman scorned, played. Dark light as in an emotional prison. The discordant vocal effects reflect broken, twisted, yes even grotesque feelings. Camera turns to depict a new reality. White spotlight reveals a new mindset. Cymbals crash announce her escape. Now she's coming after her ex. Adele's version is a slow, stiff upper lip sorrowful lamentation. KZ's is a more upbeat in-your-face, hold-my-beer defiant swag. Indeed, that is fire burning, reaching fever pitch bringing one out of the dark.

KZ *LIVES* a song. Set the mood for this one with *VERY* upset. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" THAT'S where the autotune comes in. It *Beyond* just "angry". . Look at the body language. . Later, when she sings "Don't you underestimate the things that I will do" she's not "pointing" That's a "gun"(!) . This is how you have to preempt a KZ performance. Take the lyrics, then think "how would I feel?" Multiply by 2..... Then see what she does. . She even gives a nod to Jessie J (who's actually in the show) with the staccato "D-d-d-d- Deep" later on. (Jessie is a BIG influence on KZ) . She's a very thoughtful artist.

This was a perfect reaction to KZ Andrea! I love her. You pretty much hit every point about her: insane stage presence, rock star performer, so much personality and it comes through in her signing and her stage presence, making a song her own, having fun and playing with her voice, making unusual (but amazing) arrangements. That's KZ! Surprised I didn't comment when I watched this one 3 months ago, but I came back to it again after your reaction to her cover of Rpyals. That beginning part, certainly an artistic choice. I love it in contrast to the rest of this performance, with the effects on her voice and just that acoustic guitar. The lighting shifts from blue during that part, to warm and reddish during the rest, so there is a definite, intentional change of space. I like to think of it that in the beginning, she is in the deep, underwater, lost in the background of the song, and then she burts out of it for the rest of the song. It's a great contrast. Also, you're right - this isn't a competition so much as it is her concert. She owned that stage like it was her show.

It's a microphone effect, not auto-tune, though it can be similar. It's not to enhance her voice, so it was allowed in this contest. KZ is grabbing the audience with this unexpected intro, setting the tone for the story of Rolling in the Deep: a woman scorned, as her boyfriend "played" her heart and she's pretty ticked off as the lyrics demonstrate. KZ did the arrangement and likes to change things up creatively, as you spoke of the song would be less appreciated if sung the way its been sung for years now. Love KZ and the flourishes and arrangements. You should see her other stuff on the show like Royals. Also, she’s the mentor of the relatively new PPOP group in the Philippines called G22. You can hear her influence on that girl group’s song - Bang.

The autotune was deliberate. She pretty much insisted to use autotune to throw off people, because she was deconstructing it -- and putting every possible genre in the song.

KZ, such a total performer. Very creative artist. Almost had a career ending throat surgery before this show but managed to come back with a bang! And the Rap part is just awesome 😯👏.🇺🇲🫶🇵🇭👍

Wow!! Thanks, Andrea! A new artist to follow? The audience was genuinely into it. Agree that the auto-tune put it behind the curve, but all the jazzy stuff redeemed it and more. Then jumping into Tagalog rap, followed by a more Adele-like bit near the end to bring it back a little.😎 Nice keyboard, but the speakers are driving bounce from your ceiling and walls on the way to your recording mic. All keyboards have that arrangement of speakers unless you let a USB interface take it to your DAW or other recording software. Try swinging your boom mic to the piano playing location? (simplest fix)

Thanks for doing more singers. KZ has some great songs on this show, she is a very active singer and her voice can do just about anything. This was the year (2018) after Dimash crushed it as the first non Chinese on this show. After 2017, more foreigners were invited. Good reaction! Just one point of clarification though. This was not an audition like we're used to on America's Got Talent and shows like that. The Singer is a Chinese competition show for invited professional singers. That was KZ's first performance on the show but it wasn't an audition. She did win the one and only season of the X Factor Philippines in 2012 though.

Our pillars in the music industry always thought us to sing from the heart. Anyone can sing technically/ with style but, singing from the heart is what makes the difference. .....and a lot harder to do authentically.

Its all her song arrangements,..and we all know that everytime she performs a song , she makes it on her own song interpretations.

You need to watch her Royals and Say Something in this show.

Also she needed to let his guitarist flew to join her on the stage to play singing on SAY SOMETHING is a heart wrenching emotions engagement. Kz is a one of the great singer in the phillipines. If you want more pilipino singer i recommend to you Morissette Amon the Asia's Phoenix. Morissette gave you chill when she sing live. She have more cover like rise up, never enough at wish bus and many more. She cover songs of mariah carey, whitney houston, and duet with jamie miller.

It's a competition so auto tune is not allowed, it's some kind of syntizeser used on the microphone to make that effect
