Yes! Jungkook is an amazing vocalist who is also the backbone of BTS vocals. Indeed the main vocalist of BTS 🥰 (he still is the main vocalist btw). He does a lot of background vocals, sings the guides (so the other members know how to sing their parts), does adlibs, harmonization and vocal layering, and ofc, his own lines. Jungkook also stands in for a member when needed and also helps them and gives vocal advices. He's so amazing I sometimes can't fathom how amazing he actually is! He is not only talented but hardworking as well, the fact that he erased the notion of a vocal training hour and decided to sing every minute of the day shows how much hard work he does. He's a quiet doer, someone who doesn't really tell how much work they do but they actually do a lot. I therefore have a lot of respect for his work ethic, passion and dedication. Jungkook also has a beautiful timeless voice, very versatile and fits any genre. There is no question of jungkook is the “main vocalist,” because when they debut they are debuted in specific positions… which “Main vocalist,” is the most skilled vocalist, the “lead vocalist” is the the next most skilled vocalist, followed by “vocalist” and “sub vocalist” is someone who generally is a different position but will contribute to vocals as well. Jhope is a rapper but he is also a sub vocalist, he is the only rapper that’s a sub vocalist, jungkook is the main vocalist but he is also a “sub rapper” and the only vocalist that really raps on their tracks… jk and Jhope are the only two sub anything. Jungkook is the “main vocalist,” the “lead dancer, “ a “sub rapper,” and he is the official “center” of BTS performances…. And even though he was the youngest member at 13-14 years old… he debuted in every single one of these crucial positions even though he was 2-5 years younger than everyone else… and still in high school when they debuted . Thankfully someone like ida s made this video to clarify why he is the main vocalist… bc there is no question that he is to anyone who knows them and their music so well. He’s not just singing in the choruses.. he’s almost always the only person singing in the choruses… his voice is layered over each other in different notes to create harmonies… every once in awhile another member may be in the choruses but they’re like 95% only jungkook… I’ve seen more Jhope doing choruses with jk … then anybody which I was not expecting… but jungkook is called the “golden maknae” and Jhope is called the “golden hyung” and as much as they are loved… they are both under appreciated with the level of work they put in. If Jhope is the dance leader of the group then jungkook is the vocal leader of the group… but bc he is the youngest and guarantee that’s why the group treats him that way but it is not official. There’s a reason that they love and respect him as a vocalist in such a strong way… even the vocalists… and it’s bc jk isn’t just good… he’s trained his voice by practicing all the time everyday to have such an understanding of music and especially how to use his own voice…. He really is a vocal anomaly and I’m glad Ida is showing ppl all these things he does behind the scenes that we rarely get to appreciate … unless you’re looking. Each member of bts has something that they do better than anybody else… something that makes them something untouchable… and something essential… and instead of being selfish and purely stealing the spotlight… they lift each other up and being each other along… this is extremely unique in a group of this many superhuman talented people… the places jungkook needs help… the others lift him up for the work he puts in vocally. I’m glad that you get to see why he’s def the main vocalist but why they each have their moment but their bond as a group… is what keeps them grounded and rising together 💜
