Of all the people reacting to Aurora that I’ve seen, you are by far the person with the most pleasant voice to listen to, and the person with the most well articulated and insightful interpretation of her lyrics/meaning. Like someone said, this is obviously not an exact science, but you’ve really found the balance between what you think she’s trying to convey, and your own experience. I didn’t even mind the pausing, since it’s a pleasure listening to you 😊. Thank you!

Thank you for not saying "motherfucker". I'm not ADHD, but us HSP's are often mistaken to be, because of our inability to sit still and focus on pointless shit in an unpleasant environment. I saw eating maggots as all the small talk and other stupid crap we have to swallow, but you can take all the nausea it causes in you and puke it all out and make art of it, like a finger painting or a damn good song. So pretty much the same as you. This song is much more complex than people realize. It has a great arc from the serenity in the beginning to the explosion of positivity in the end, and then there's things like "and it suits me just fine" coming out of the blue.

Thanks for this video. An honest and thoughtful reaction. I also love this song, and the line "nothing will die while we are here" is one of those Auroras lines that have stayed in my head since the first time I heard the song. But I never quite got exactly what she meant with it. Even considered asking her if I ever had the chance. 😂

I agree about that line. I love that specific line....and I kinda sorta _feel_ what it means, if that makes sense? But I'm not sure if I actually _know_ what it means. But that's usually the case with great lyrics.

I love your interpretation about the vomiting. When this video was posted here in KZread for the first time, I wrote a comment explaining that this original idea for the video really made sense, the vomiting and the lyrics go side by side. How? Expressing the toxicity of the way we live (we become nightime dreamers, street walkers, small talkers) by vomiting those things you are not, but you are forced to live because of how the world is (or appears to be). For me, she is calling us to go inside, rediscover our true self and express ourselves in a deep way. And love is the ultimate way of living: "All I ever known is what I dream about when I'm sober, never turn away from love, before the love you have is over". And Yes Alexandra! I like you and I have subscribed to your channel

Sorry for your loss. I've seen this video before, but never really gave much thought to the meaning behind it before seeing your intepretation. Whether you nailed the intent with complete accuracy is immaterial (and impossible to know, really), because you nailed it for yourself, and that's what's important. And your interpretation made a lot of sense and was very interesting and thought-provoking. Putting aside the lyrics and their meaning, this song has been an absolute blast to see her do live (on video only, unfortunately). I think the first time I saw her do it live was probably the HAIK concert, and it was absolutely amazing and full of energy. But I think on this current tour she's taken it to an even higher level, dancing all around the stage. She has finally started using a cordless mic on stage, and that gives her even more freedom to dance around, and wow, is she taking advantage of that! And Daydream makes for an awesome show closer.

It's so interesting to note that we're taught (at least in my country) to say "I'm fine thank you" as a starting point of learning English. It's really suffocating to see it constrained like that and being instilled to say it as if the words mean nothing anymore, I can't remember which interview but aurora has mentioned this saying "but so many of us aren't fine" and I find it so interesting to see you make parallels with her train of thought! This is a bit of a long comment, pardon me, but I usually only watch first reactions to aurora's music, but your videos on her has changed that for me! They are so inviting and meaningful and they delve into her world so much more than one could upon first listen, so thank you for making these! Definitely gonna stick around for a while :D Also, you have the most loveliest and softest voice! Perfect to draw along to ♥️

Here is a fun little fact about Daydreamer: The song was released with the ADKOH Step 2 album on June 7th 2019, but she already talked about the concept in a podcast that was released on Sep 8th 2017 (and recorded sometimes between June and Sep 2017): youtu . be / H9lO034MNKc&t=611s (CC for English Subs) "So I hope we never stop dreaming. We only dream when we sleep, we should dream when we are awake."

Aurora is Wise, for her age and maybe about the way we've been trained to think, which is a big fucking fuckup cause we've been lied to and trained to follow some sonovabich's orders and probably sick and greedy wishes suddenly some one comes that speaks to our souls and remind us who we really are and what this Gift of Life is all about..... in songs! and this beautiful creature came to me with these words, when some one in my life went away here it is kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaJhxq-xkqzXeqQ.html I fucking love Aurora.....she came into my life in the right moment......I found her back in 2016 or maybe I should say she found me..............we've been blessed trust me Sis

So many thoughts.... You had me hooked and subscribed by the time you finished the MF section. I love facetiousness at it's finest and with some dry humor mixed in. Randomly found this video, and I'm so glad I did. I love your perspective on being free from small talk and actually getting into the intensity, passion and intrigue of conversation. I'll be diving in for more of this, relatable thoughts I couldn't get into words as well as you did and the space you made. Aurora has been a massive influence on me since I (belatedly) found her last year. But like you described, there's so much intent on each small piece that carries a lot of impact, perspective, and in many cases healing. Being so free with emotions, diving deep, and showing others they aren't alone and bringing them close is a massive power Aurora has with her music. Almost indescribable. But I thoroughly enjoyed this reaction... I hadn't seen the video yet so your reaction afterwards made me really think about how I watched it and how things she shows can be applicable so many places. It's a gift.

It was the second song/video I ever saw of Aurora….about a year, year and a half ago which parts of this video was edited….and, I was fully falling down the Aurora Aksnes rabbit hole after that. (*the first video was “Runaway” from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert….that I only caught by accident on a vocal coach’s KZread channel who was going to breakdown the song) Hands down…my favorite artist of all time. Moving Linda Ronstadt, Eagles, Annie Lennox, Fleetwood Mac, Sade, Kate Bush,ELO, Billy Joel, Chicago/Peter Cetera, Toto and Sam Cooke …all notch downwards. One of the most amazingly beautiful souls in life and arts I’ve ever been blessed to experience. Love this young woman🎼🫶🏽🤙🏾✌🏾💕🥰🤘🏾

So sorry to hear about your little brother’s death Alexandra! What a wonderful analysis of this great song and thanks for giving me insight into the line “Nothing can die while we are here!” It finally makes sense to me. Thanks for not making a “reaction video” but instead presenting your interpretation in a very logical and insightful way and above all giving context to the lyrics. I totally agree with the small talk thing. I had a chance to meet AURORA about 5 weeks ago. For my wife and I it was the 3rd time we had seen her in concert THAT WEEK. At the end of the WOMAD concert she did signings. As we patiently waited to see her I though of what I could possibly say to her to sum up how I felt (ie no small talk). In the end I told her that she was the best artist on the planet and that although that I am 70 both her music and what she has to say is very meaningful to me. At this she looked me in the eye, held my hand tightly and said , “It’s wonderful to meet a kindred spirit!” I’m still on a high from that!

I'm a dreamer, I often daydreamed in school (many years ago). This chorus is spot on. I'm slightly autistic, always been on the outside, not really interested in joining the "crowd", and often felt like an alien in this world. Aurora is like fresh air. Not sure if I totally agree with all your interpretations here, but that's ok, your thoughts are interesting. All the best 💖

Hello ! Alexandra. I like you . It´s interesting to hear what you interpret of Auroras song. but for me are the lyrics not the most important with Aurora. For me it is that you talk and show us what you feels about her that is important. I interpret her lyrics very often in a very different way. As Aurora says. that she wanted us to analysed her music with our heart not our brain, or something like that. I definetly do it by my heart, and i never discuss it with someone other than myself. When i see reaction and analytic videos i listen what their say, but for me it is what you show with all your body and voice warmth that get me. It seems that you love this song as much as i do. I hope that you get something out of this rambling And to continue to excuse me, English is not my main language. I love your cover by Aurora and i should se your song tonight. Who told you not to say that word?? I won't say it in this comment....cuz I don't want to anger the KZread AI Nanny. But Aurora herself.....uses that word ALL the time. She hosted an online music festival during the pandemic....where she played host, and was utterly adorable...and started one segment by saying, _"Howdy mother----ers!"_ I think _some_ Aurora fans(mostly older men it seems) have this cringey obsession with "protecting her innocence." When in reality she's more intelligent, witty, and worldly than they will ever realize. She's not merely some pure fragile baby girl angel singer who we "must protect at all cost"... -__-
