Singer 301: How to Thread Sewing Machine and Wind the Bobbin on Model 301 Singer Sewing Machine

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this week's #craftcoreDIY video, I'll show you how to thread the Singer 301 (Singer 301A) sewing machine, how to insert the bobbin case, and how to wind the bobbin. I'll show you the basics of how to operate the machine including sewing in reverse. I'll also share my thoughts about the various features of this machine.

I learned how to sew on this machine as a kid, and my 87 year old mom still uses it. 😊

Hi there ..my husband was cleaning out his garage and asked me to come out and see a sewing machine he forgot about...so out I go...it was an oddly shaped Singer machine with only 301 showing...and it was sitting in a beautiful four drawer cabinet. So after some internet research I have found out a lot about this beautiful machine. Tues I am taking to my Singer repairman.... I haven't been able to see the full number underneath but I am believing it is one of the 10000 produced by Anderson Co in Elizabeth Port, NJ in 1951 to celebrate Singer's s centennial of making machines. I am an avid quilter and have a 1941 singer featherweight...she has helped me make well over a hundred quilt tops...her name is Betsy. I also have a 1913 treadle turned into an electric machine...I have to use it more..problem is Big Ben weighs 40# so I'm not into lifting him too much..however...we have a solid oak desk...very sturdy..my husband will make a pattern from Big Ben's bottom and cut it out from top of desk ..of course making a bottom shelf to support his daintiness 🤗 so having said all of this I am most grateful for your channel....thank you for showing how to thread the 301...I think her name will be Jessica...Jess for short.

Thanks for a very informative video. This is a machine that means business. It’s very masculine looking. I have a couple top of the line Berninas. Not sure why I have all the sudden become interested in vintage/antique machines lately. This is a fun machine. I have a Domestic brand with silver findings, an early Elena and an early Singer with the bullet bobbin.

I have collected 25 machines of all types and taught myself how to fix any and all including chain stitches in the last 3 or 4 years it's one of the best things I've ever done and most interesting I just got this model the other day and it is really interesting and a good machine I believe I'm going to have a museum and I want to repair more and get parts one thing I want to invent is a universal hand crank in case electricity is not around

This isn't the exact one but it's very similar to this one - I just don't have the guide attached in the video. It's not my fave style of 1/4 inch foot but it's what my local quilt shop had available. 😁 www.sewingpartsonline.com/1-4-inch-plastic-patch-work-foot-slant-with-guide-p60606-g.aspx
