Nice video. I must point out that eating chicken rice without any of the 3 sauces that usually go with it (either garlic, dark soy or chilli) is like eating mac and cheese without the cheese. 😆 Having said that, to be fair, not every chicken rice stall does their chicken well. Some can end up with terribly dry or bland chicken meat! 😜 Also Singapore is notoriously humid (even for us locals! LOL!). You might want to visit during the windier months at the start of the year (Jan - Mar) which helps to bring down the humidity and temperature. But be prepared for occasional periods of wet weather (and I mean torrential downpours at times!) as that is the tail end of the Northeast Monsoon season which typically starts in the month of December...

You were very lucky to be able to see wild otters. Correction: those are the Supertrees that you were talking about & Avatar The Experience is actually the one going on at the Cloud Forest in one of the domes. The Supertree nite shows are also free. When you talk about gardens or parks, of course they are outdoors usually. The CCTVs are for surveillance & security reasons, not to spy on everybody. We do not need knives for chicken rice, also we eat chicken & rice together, along with chilli sauce & dark soya sauce, sometimes ginger sauce. You guys are not eating it the local way, not doing us justice. Putu piring is made of flour, brown sugar & coconut shreds.

The chickens hanging in the windows are poached -- not raw which is why the hawker was able to chop it up in front of you and serve it to you there and then. The piece of green stuff in the packet of putu piring is a piece of Pandan leaf. Not meant to be eaten. It's used for its fragrance and frequently used in deserts. That machine is not for 'surveilling people'. Machines like this are used to keep the floor clean. I am told similar looking ones are also used to take food orders or deliver food though I've not seen them myself. Contrary to what you think, Singapore is not a surveillance state. We're not spied on by our govt everywhere. Cameras are usually placed in strategic spots where they might come in handy to keep us safe and I'm thankful we have them. Should I ever be robbed, I would like the police to know what the robber looks like. Wouldn't you? As for unemployed Singaporeans because of the machines that are employed in their stead, please be informed that in many instances staff are encouraged to upgrade themselves through courses to enable them to use these machines. These courses are either fully paid for or heavily subsidised by govt agencies. Do you have similar schemes where you come from?
