Do you even know how long an investigation takes. First of all, it takes time and even months to confirm. If it is still in the midst of investigation why should he release the statement. You think this is a tv crime story where it looks easy to come to a conclusion. Trump’s case for eg.. takes almost a year to gather evidence on the 6th Jan Capitol riot to procecute him. It’s not as easy as ABC..

Iswaran's minister and constituency duties can be relinquished immediately and taken over by someone else and not TCJ's ??!! The PM has to come up with a better reason because Singaporeans are not stupid.

Who should hold that power if not the PM? There's many instances where PAP could do better, but on this front, the prime minister is our nation's leader, if not him, who should make the final call on such high profile cases? CPIB need to answer to someone right? If not the PM then who? Our president? Our presidents have mostly had some PAP affliations during their careers, what would be the difference?

And I'm completely neutral in this arena, I do not hold any endearment for either political party. I am just trying to understand what you would propose as alternative to the current system where the prime minister has discretion to high profile enquiries. I've tried thinking, there really isn't a better alternative. If we as a nation vote him in, then its only fair that he holds certain powers to decide for the nation. I think the PAP has not been entirely transparent on other fronts, but on this front, I'd say they've been transparent enough. It's completely acceptable, LHL's statement addressing why he couldn't have been transparent earlier. Firstly it was an ongoing investigation. Secondly and more importantly why would he give iswaran notice that he's being investigated, in case he takes steps to prevent conclusive investigation

Under the current law, CPIB cannot function as independent body since it has to report to the PM or EP if they performing investigation into ministers. This is open to abuse if the the highest executives in this country themselves are corrupted.

We still do not know if Singh had lied to the COP investigating Khan's lie in parliament.She had laid bare to us what had transpired between her and the WP's central committee,particularly what Singh had wanted her to do after the discovery of her lie. Singh seemed to want us to believe that she was lying,yet again,in the midst of investigation. Do you believe Khan dared to lie again during the investigation?I don't.

That's what we have an opposition for! Nobody's perfect (not PAP, WP nor the others), but things cannot be swept under the carpet or ignored during those dark days when there was no opposition in parliament. Look for another GRC to fall come 2024-25.

Should the response be quick and the conclusion arrived at is less than accurate, there will be a backlash from parties involved. Then, the Opposition will just be silent and let the damage take its course.

PM Lee looks so tired and has aged considerably over the past few years, retirement is timely. On a side note I feel that PM Lee seems to hold a traditional/conservative mindset towards democratic values which have progressed much in the past decade, not only in Sg but globally as well. Sg has not caught up under his leadership. Hopefully a younger PM will have a more modern mindset in line with modern democratic values of accountability, transparency, inclusiveness, etc.

PM Lee has responded to that question by presenting three scenarios. If an MP is discovered to be involved in extramarital relationships and corrects their behavior after counselling, they will resolve the issue privately (sweep under carpet lol). Too bad TCJ is a speaker where impartiality is at stake, and he remains recalcitrance despite being counselled by PM lee himself.

Wow Opptn Leader Pritam! Growing in stature n experience in Parliamentary debates.. PM didn't move earlier on ex Speaker n ex MP? TCJ was the ceremonial 'Head' of parliament! This has dented our Parliament standing, amongst others..

I think PAP has lost a lot of integrity points. Pritam is asking all the right questions which is not getting straight answers. Speaks a lot. This GE PAP has a tough uphill task to win back the complete trust they enjoyed

Strange, didn't pritam did nothing when the driver tried to ask him to help pereira stop his relationship with Nicole Seah? Didn't he tried to brush the MP's lying in parliament under the carpet and then when he can't hide it anymore, he gave details which the said MP begged him not to mention? What about the mismanagement of the Aljunied Account? To me a good opposition is one which helps the ruling party by giving positive suggestions and not press on things that had already being rectified. It's a waste of precious time which can be better used to meet the challenges the country is facing. WP is not representing the people, they're more concern about their party and power grappling.

When pm said “if i didn’t say anything, nobody would know” as if we should be thankful for him being honest?? That’s the bare minimum sir, you should not be proud that you were open about that? Please address the actual problem which is, if you did know why the lack of disclosure at the time, and even if it’s for sensitivity sake, it should not have taken even close to three years. He admitted he should have acted sooner, but still tries to say “but i acted” You mean you were forced to?

Feels kind of sick to be in a political culture where there seemed to be More EMPATHY and SYMPATHY from the ruling party for the VERY rich earning less due to their indiscretions rather than for the Working Poor being EXPLOITED with rights DENIED!

Well, at least the PAP checks themselves. WP doesn't even check or investigate their own party. Raeesah Khan with SPF, Sylvia Lim with AHTC? Leon and Nicole? Did Pritam ask hard questions like this before the cases surfaced? No investigation and facts check before it's surfaced. I find it quite hypocrite for him to question this way. I'm not saying PAP is right in anyway, WP isn't that good too.

Why didnt ask the driver to help to produced video evidence. Why go to ask the suspects instead. It shows either ignorance, complacency. CPID Chief should run WP and PAP leadership instead.

The pm say so much but does not address anything. Got say like no say...wasting time lah.
