Singapore Airlines Flight: ‘Boiling water covered crew in burns’ - Passenger describes ordeal
A passenger on the flight from London to Singapore which experienced sudden severe turbulence has described his ordeal to Sky News.
Josh Silverstone said there was a "huge bang" and he woke up "on the floor" with people crying, covered in blood and the ceiling falling down.
He told Sky's Asia Correspondent Cordelia Lynch the experience has made him rethink flying again in the future.
Geoff Kitchen, 73, died in the incident with dozens injured.

Please remember that many of the injured are actually members of the flight crew. They were injured and yet were still trying to help passengers. Anyone berating the flight crew needs to have more human decency. The pilots did a great job of landing the flight safely. It was an unpredictable clear air turbulence that no one, no technology, could have averted.

I take roughly 80-90 flights a year, and In every flight i take nowadays the standard message always says to please keep the seat belt on, even when the fasten seatbelt sign has been switched off… and yet systematically people take it off immediately. Instead of just make it a bit loose … usually first time flyers or rare holiday makers… maybe they should leave the sign on all the time…

Turbulence in the air. I actually had turbulence just before landing in Jeju kicking hard while my plane I was on was trying to land on the runway then the wind picks up to the side. Pilot had to abort the landing, immediately pulled up back into the air just to make another pass and make one more attempt because if the wind gets any stronger channelling to the side of the aircraft, the aircraft would have tipped sideways, engines may even explode.

This same thing happened to me 58 years ago on Seattle Pacific Northwest flight. People haven't changed. Most had seatbelts fastened though. Turbulence happenened and plane dropped way down throwing things all around. Food & drinks, flying people too. Person sitting next to me without seatbelt, flew up, hit head on overhead bin, passed out. Terrified many, me included. I still avoid flying , even now at 79 😮
They were so fortunate to be so close to Bangkok for a diversion. Medical care for ex-pats is top notch. And lots of people are berating injured people for not wearing seat belts. The man says a meal service was starting, so presumably people were waking up, got a for a stretch, bathroom break, etc.
