Singapore 1979

In 1979 we set off on a "round-the-world" trip. Our air tickets, originally from Toronto to Singapore, had been extended to London with stops in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Colombo and many other cities on the way to London. We had no commitments and intended to travel as long as our money lasted. These photos were taken on Kodachrome slide film and have been rarely seen in the last 40 years.
Landing in Singapore was like getting back to civilization. Everything seemed easy, especially since we were staying with the Gregson family, friends of my father. We spent much of our time shopping and eating as one tends to do in Singapore.

But certain things like widening of classic roads like Tampines road, Upper Changi roads, Old Choa chu kang road without the precedence of an influx of increased traffic as well as the outright removal of our unmarked heritage sites remain questionable.
