I'm a German and this brought me to tears our soldiers are brave, They keep on fighting until they died its felt to be shot in heart to listen this song, God bless Germany our fatherland we're so glad we live in Germany!

The original melody is from "Ich hab die nacht getraümet" but this version really is sad and beautiful song.

Yes, learning other languages is very liberating. As a born English speaker, I've always been grateful that I was taught French, German and Latin in school, and more recently some Italian. If I'd had the chance, it might have been Russian. But there you go, it's what fate deals out to you.......

I just started uncontrollably crying at this song the lyrics hurt my soul emagineing it made it even worse this is what I emagined. A lone soldier stands I a 4 foot trench smoking a cigarette it's night he's on watch by his barracks a bullet from an unseen sniper grazes past him he trys to grab his rifle but his hands are frozen from frostbite so he can barely move them another shot is fired and he collapses on a snowbank behind him blood drenching the snow.

Leider kann ich nicht mehr tun, als dieses Lied zu liken. Es ist wirklich sehr berührend

when i read the translation it hit me hard suddenly i feel really sad while reading them it just sad , i just want to got bed and cry to sleep.

This war was just pure sad because of one Crazy man so many soldiers who just following orders were brutally killed and treated horribly by the Soviets and Europe Rip to all the German soldiers in ww2
