Sing 2: The Next Stage.

Here’s one rather interesting detail I’ve noticed with the flamingos. If you look at the ones on the right when they are making hearts with their necks and beaks, you’ll notice that they have a darker area around their eyes than the ones on the left. Almost like they’re wearing makeup or something. This could mean that the flamingos on the left are males, and the ones on the right are females. It may not be intentional though, because when they separate you’ll see that the dark area seems to disappear, so it could be the lighting. But I thought it was still worth pointing out. They’ve also seemed to have dyed or painted their wings and tail feathers to be the same color as their jumpsuits, which they didn’t do when they sang “Cake By The Ocean” for Jimmy Crystal. I wonder why they gave them that in the end credits. There are also four flamingos that weren’t seen moments before. A blue flamingo, green flamingo, red flamingo and purple flamingo are seen at the top of the screen. Why start off with the yellow and pink ones instead of the blue and green ones? There’s also an additional red flamingo at the bottom of the heart, though it’s obvious that he or she is just there to fill in the gap. Honestly though, they kind of underused red. None of the red-suited flamingos are seen leaving when Crystal rejects them, and the red female with the green male during the heart scene is the only one to appear prior to the other two. On a side note, I totally think the flamingos should come back in Sing 3 with a major role, because I think they have a lot of potential. In my plot, they are found by Buster performing on the street and after a talk with them, he convinces them to come and become a part of his theater group, despite the reluctance of their leader who has become relatively misguided after they have been rejected by several other theater owners. Although these are the same flamingos from Sing 2, their leader is kind of an OC, as we don’t know their names. The leader’s name is Finn and as mentioned above, he is pretty cynical and misguided since they have been rejected by other theater owners. But as the movie progresses, Finn begins to show the more fun-loving and optimistic side of him, and after the show is canceled during the second half, he remembers Buster’s advice “Don’t let fear stop you from doing the thing you love”, and decides that instead of leaving the city and moving on like they always have, they should go back and help Buster and the others put on the show after getting a message from Buster. Finn’s voice is provided by the one and only Lin-Manual Miranda, who you might recognize as the composer of Hamilton and Encanto, as well as Moana, Vivo (whom he also voiced), and the upcoming Little Mermaid Remake.
