In Red's defense, in the Zelda Series, Blue fire is a mystical *cold fire* used to melt the Supernaturally hot Red Ice. So he was correct in the context of Zelda, which she was playing at the time.

Red is the coldest fire, white is about mid temperature, and blue is the hottest. Any other colors like green, purple, and yellow are based on what is being burned instead of the temperature.

Green -> Copper Purple -> Potassium Yellow -> Sodium and the the hottest Chemical Reaction we know of is between Ozone and Dicyanoacetylene at 6.000 Kelvin (5730°C/+10k Fahrenheit) and its bright blue/white

Ain't entirely true, orange and yellow are transition colors between red and white in blackbody radiations. And blue and white can very much be due to the fuel, arsenic burns blue, lead burns blue-white, titanium burns silver-white. In fact that's the case of the average blue flame as well: a blue blackbody radiation sits around 12000K, ain't no way you can get that in a campfire or a gas range you'd literally be vaporising the surroundings. The blue of a stoichiometric gas fire is caused by the combustion products releasing energy as they transition to a lower states. The red/yellow of a non-gas flame are caused by the pseudo-blackbody radiation of unburned soots, which shouldn't happen in a correctly fed gas fire, hence why the flame is a clean blue.

In terms of heat blue fire is up there, however more interestingly the more Blue a fire is the more pure the flame is. Gas that is ignited with a spark from a stove top for example is just the gas itself burning to cause the flame, but when we burn wood it's orange because of the oxygen and carbon within the wood, the source differing.

Not quite. It’s got more to do with how much of the fuel source is being used. In yellow/orange fire, not everything combusts, which is why you get smoke. It’s the material that wasn’t combusted. This is also why blue flames don’t generate smoke. They use up everything from their fuel source, and are hotter as a result.
