Simulating a Desert for 100 Days

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

#ecosystem #paludarium #vivarium
Scorpions, Death Feigning Beetles, Mexican Jumping Beans, and so much more! Over the past 100 days, I documented my little chunk of the desert. Watch as it transforms from a barren wasteland into a thriving ecosystem!

Dude, you gotta set up a 24/7 livestream of this terrarium that goes on constantly. I would watch that every day man Edit: the terrarium could have multiple cameras. The video feed could switch between cameras when it detects movement. Also, there could be a camera that detects moisture or water and the camera would be a lot more active in the stream when it does. Also $10 to cause rain with a long cooldown time to prevent over-flooding. (These are further improved(mainly second one) ideas in the replies (I didn’t read all 80 tho).

I love how this is a tiny ecosystem based on real life ecosystems, kind of like a simulation, but real! Also, at 2:26, I love how they were saying how careful they have to be, which is true, but then strait up picks up the scorpion and puts it in the tank. Pretty funny, but also very professional.

Scorpions have big reputation but in truth a wasp is more dangerous. Most scorpions are extremely afraid of humans, wasps are not. But that's not even the most scary killer that lurks everywhere, a mosquito. It kills more humans than basically all other animals together. Ironically no one is that afraid of them.

They share burrows in the wild under a symbiotic relationship, the scorpion protects the lizard from larger predators while the lizard eats ants that would normally be a problem for the scorpion.
