@lrozenwater you don't hear the original voice when you watch a film or the simpsons, you just hear the original voice when it is a live-dubbing (eurosport) :D But you're right, the german voice often matches the movements of the mouths... but i just realize that when they speak very slowly or when they are crying...

@Osterochse natürlich ist die englische Stimme in diesem Fall die originalstimme. In vielen zu dubbenden Trickfilmen/sendungen werden die Mundbewegungen an den Sprecher angepasst anstatt umgekehrt. Bei Simpsons evtl nicht aber nichts desto trotz.

@lrozenwater I don't know, either... perhaps 'cause most of the people who speak german (germany, austria, switzerland and liechtenstein) don't like to read subtitles all the time. (too lazy :P) if you are looking a german film, would you always read subtitles?... and its create new job places :P oder was meint ihr?

And yes, I would've chosen subtitles instead of dubbing, it's so annoying when you hear the original voice very soft in the background, and a german voice in the foreground... = I can't listen to the original voice + the German (or any other language) voice never matches the movements of the mouths... Annoys me ;)

@lrozenwater ok i didn't know that eurosport is in english, but why not MAKE a german version from the simpsons. so can german people enjoy the story and the gags and we don't have to read and read. so we can enjoy the pictures and the faces more, too. Otherwise, your're right, so we don't learn a lot of english when we watch the simpsons or an american film. also I watch them in English when i like to improve my English knowledge. (and an american people can improve their german knowledge :P)

'Simpsons' is american. The voices are american. In almost every country (except Germany, Italy and some others) we use subtitles. But no, ruin everything with other voices. The original voices are always better. When I was watching a ski-competition on Eurosport, there was a german voice translating what a english-speaking guy said. I wanted to hear the english voice =(
