    This is wonderful; however, the connecting part gets a bit hidden in the video. Please explain the connection for headphones. What connects to the iPad (type of plug) and what connects to the piano? What is being connected through the usb port on the adapter device? What type of plug is on the end of the cord of the adapter device?

    Easy: 1. USB HUB with Lightning in Ipad / Iphone 2. USB MIDI to USB C 3. Headphones with cable 3.5mm. Step 1: Connect your USB hub to Ipad. Step 2: Use cable midi from keyboard to the hub usb C port. Step 3: Plug your headphones into USB hub. GO

    Thanks for posting this video - my partner is learning with this app and a noisy apartment is making it hard for her.

    Oh I also have the question! My iPad Pro (2018) has lightening cable instead of USB C. I have tried to use an adapter to make this work with everything else you mentioned but no luck. Any advice appreciated!

    Hi, thank you for your video. I bought the same hub, but it doesn't work for me. I have a Samsung21. My keyboard has a micro-usb port, so I plug it into the hub and plug it to my cellphone so midi works fine. Whenever I plug my hearphones in the hub, I can only hear the simply piano app but not the piano. The piano plays normally outside and not in my hearphones. Is there a way to resolve this ? thanks

    Hi Dominque, I am having the same issue you experienced where my piano is not playing in to the headphones. The headphones do work with the port and my phone. Did you find a solution? Many thanks

    When you connect the headphones with the ipad using the USB-C hub, you can hear both the piano and the ipad through the headphones, right? So no one else in the room would hear anything....?

    @@TechWallsReview is there a way to set up a Yamaha with only an aux port so that I can play with headphones on and still hear and have simply piano hear the notes on the iPad?

  • @TechWallsReview

    @TechWallsReview

    @@jessieterry5316 I don't think it's possible. It requires a MIDI connection to recognize the notes.

    Can i connect my tablet via 3.5mm cable with both ends being the same? I want to use it for simply piano but my ancient piano doesnt have a usb port. It only has two 6.3mm ports and a port for the pedals. Its the digital piano yamaha ydp-121

    Unfortunately it requires the USB connection. You can use iPad's microphone to recognize notes but that is unreliable.

    Hello, I can hear both the piano and the app sound from headphones when I plug the tablet by USB port and headphones. My issue is that now the app doesn't recognize any notes. I have a aux cable from headphones port of tablet to audio in on piano. Is it the wrong cable ?

  • @TechWallsReview

    @TechWallsReview

    Yes, you need to use a USB cable as shown in the video, don't use audio-in on your piano.

    Hi, thank you for posting this, could you please tell exactly what to buy? There are for examble various Lention hubs, and I am puzzled about the kables too. Which one are you connecting from the piano to the hub? I've been searching for hours now and buying all kinds of things, getting a bit desperate. Thanks! and my neighbours thank you too.
