Simplicity Conquest Transmission Oil Change - Tuff Torq K66L

Working on this Conquest. Transmission was getting slow on hills after 30 minutes of use. This oil change seemed to cure the problem.

Keith! First off, great to see a vid from ya and second, great to see ya tackle a transmission lol great vid my friend! I remember doing this on my Scotts and it really helped it, the fluid at a certain point must just really start to breakdown.

There are so few videos of the Conqeusts on youtube. I'm about to buy a '20 so I can be pampered because of my health. Wish more owner videos were out there. Thanks for yours.

Hi, I had the same problem. My conquest would'nt climb while cutting grass even on a slight incline. I'm sure I emptied out the wrong oil which was black in color by removing the front internal transmission filter. They filter was missing (fig. 17 page 20 of the manual). I then proceeded to fill in the hydraulic system from plug B in figure 16. Did I fill the oil into the wrong plug?. I think maybe I should have filled the expansion bottle with the oil instead. Did I make a mistake? Thanks for your advice. Mario

You should fill both chambers and then also put a small amount in the expansion bottle too.

Great video, thanks. My Conquest (2011) has power steering, so two lines come off the Trans and pass thru two large filters, then go to the steering valve and to the cylinder @ the wheels. So, I would imagine i have quite a bit more fluid... Any ideas on changing that accessory oil? The two large spin-on filters are upside down, so i can just drop them. Anyway, just not sure about how or if to change all that oil (dunno if the p.steering fluid mixes with the rest of the tranny..) ~

Thanks. I’m not sure about your ps vs rest of fluid but I would imagine it’s all part of hydraulic system. Does your manual say anything about ps fluid or how to change? Thanks for watching!!!

I just removed my K66 from the rear end. Still gotta undo all the linkages, and raise up the rear about 2+ feet, and it took awhile getting everything unbuttoned, so it's a toss up on which way is easier. BTW: don't just "drop the pan". I didn't do that but the trans rotated on me and one of the gearsets almost fell out with the bottom pan. That would not have been fun to put back together.

Hey good video I'm in the process of I was thinking adding transportation fluid to mine but after what you did I might change my mind. Mine in the first 15 to 20 minutes mine will take off down the hill and I can't hardly stop it. Do you think that will help? Thanks for what you do

Is the fluid type and capacity the same for a broadmor 14? My brother was given an older Simplicity broadmor14 with a snowblower attachment and the gear box wines when it's engaged. And of course the back tires are dry rotted and the wheels are stuck on. 🇺🇲 👍
