Instead of putting a block above the zombies to prevent them stacking, its generally a better idea with this style of base to make the wall there 4 blocks tall and then a small overhang. by preventing them from stacking in a standing state, you force them to crawl to stack instead, which can force them through your little window setup. You may also be better off having the funneling pathway be in line with the window so that when you fire into the crowd, missed shots at zombies in the window are more likely to connect with a zombie behind them, having the pathway off to the side means your shot can only potentially hit the ones that happen to be at the top of the ladder, rather than all of the zombies on the pathway.

I really like this build. The one thing I would do different is the pillars. Instead of one pillar I use a 2x2 area and put a pole in the inside corners. Uses the same space, but 4x stronger. Can't remember who I got the idea from. I watch a lot of you guys.

im not sure if its true or not but i remember hearing somewhere that zombies do bonus damage to poles?

Simple and effective. Easy to integrate into a POI should the player wish to. WELL DONE! Had to check if I was on the right channel because you didn't set yourself on fire ;)

This is really simple and cool, the only problem is when zombies fall they go into rage mode and start beating on things, usually temporarily but sometimes you need to inflict damage on them to get them out of rage mode. I didn't know about them not attacking pillars if there is a ditch built around the pillar so thank you for that info.

same thing but turn the ladder pillar 90 degrees and put in arrow slits that give you line of sight to the ladder so you can thin them a bit on the way up.

You should put a block down on the top right of the single walkway. Then put the sledge turret on it facing the opposite way. This way has a better chance to hit an knock them off. Great vid and base by the way.

And here I spent 4 days full on redoing a 3 story house in full steel and turned it into a friggin Winchester mansion 2.0 when I could've just done this 🤣 I've learned, they do jump and definitely do dig the hard way.

It had a plants vs zombie vibe to it

looks good for the first or 2nd horde night, but as soon as zombie dogs and bears/animals start showing up on horde nights, this wont work.(they can't go up ladders) You would need to have ramps or stairs leading to the top by that point, so that they can path up. Plus, ramps and stairs don't cause as much pathing issues as ladders do, but cost a lot more blocks to get to the same height. So maybe don't build quite this high up. In my experience, anything more than 7 or 8 blocks above ground level is unnecessary and makes no real difference. I didn't know about the pillar 1 block below trick. I'll have to play around with that :)

There's no bears or animals during any horde nights this is vanilla and animals climb ladders including bears as shown in my stream I did, we used this base on a modded map and pigs, wolves all climbed the ladders just fine

@@ReachGaming They might have fixed the pathing for dogs and bears and such with ladders without me noticing. (They used to have a terrible time getting up ladders, so i just stopped using ladders entirely for zombie paths.) But the zombie dogs definitely do show up in vanilla horde nights, they always have. You can verify by giving your character 100 levels and changing the game day to day 70, to be sure you are in the advanced game stages.

I will say videos like these are more why I'm subscribed but to be honest maybe try and branch out to other more popular games if you want to keep growing your channel. 7 days to die is a great game, but doesn't have the massive audience and player base that bigger games do... untapped market right there for you in my opinion. great vid!

Hey there man. I had the exact same feedback when I came to this channel. I did come to realization that I do know little about the KZread environment and growth of a channel, yet i think positive feedback is always a good thing despite if we don't see instant implementation. I have come to mention the things I do currently like or excited to see coming. Hope to hear more of your ideas. Ps. I also wanted to mention the fact that we most likely want to see him succeed and that there is some sort of quality that we think can be implemented into other formats or games. What do you seem to like?

My most simple and effective, oh snap it's day 7, base is a hallway with hatches. I did in turn like the reminders of the gap around the pillars, adding plating to walls, multiple ladder paths, sliding block and drinking coffee. All things you can add to your own builds or poi

Pipe pistol.. Sure. I have all night to reload. I break those down or sell them and I never use them. I craft a pipe machine gun and save my 9mm rounds until I get a proper pistol. Which in my current play through, I have gotten a .44 on a quest rewards before I have gotten a semi-auto 9mm. Still waiting....

Just ready to build it. After my first plan, to load it in to an existing savegame went to nothing. :) Problem is, you sayed it is an early-game-design. But in early game, there seem to be a lack of robotic parts.

@@ReachGaming I hope so. I have done the build with 3 ladders. They come up realy fast. not much time to shoot them down whilst climbing. But thaks for the build. I am just before night 49. and night 42 on a ground based podest with 2 rows of spikes and a 2 blocks high wodden wall was really hard. Would not do this again in night 49. 4:00 died at 0:30 because i forgot to bring cobblestones for repair and healing-stuff. So they crushed their way through. But i spawned some good distance away, so the did not managed it to find me till 4:00. i wonde if i will find THEM on my way to my backpack

@@ReachGaming Works good now with healing and repairng Stuff and an Battle-Axe instead of an Spear. But the robot sledge i placed several times to adjust won´t work. even the burning shaft mod i placed inside does not lit up a single bit. It is a sledge i found, Level 5. But i have allready learnd the Robot- lessons so i might build an own one. But i do not think its why it is not self build. maybe i missed an little detail to bring it to action.

the new godtier fighting position block is the scaffolding ladder placed sideways u can hit them, you can shoot them, but they cant hit,or spit on you. double it up and you have a nice way to safely dish out the damage

@@Eviaification before you reinstall you can always just make a backup of the game via steam, uninstall and reinstall the backup first. Most steam backups only save the verification files so it's similar to a fresh reinstall files. If time/data is an issue

Wrong. I built this base within 24 - in-game hours default settings from 0 cobble and I built this thing, so it's definitely definitely doable wouldn't have uploaded if it wasn't cobble is really easy to get.

Cobblestone is easy, it's stone and clay. Also working stiffs and construction sites usually has a bunch floating around.
