Beautiful to see vivid red colors against backdrop of snow
Thank you so much! Cardinals were my grandmother's favorite bird, so much so that the family still gives each other something with a cardinal on it as Christmas presents to keep her with us over the holidays. This will be so perfect. Thank you, sincerely, again.

@Silvia Sanchez, here in Georgia, USA, One of the beauties of winter is looking out my kitchen window and seeing a beautiful red male cardinal sitting out on the bare branches of a tree. I SOOO love Cardinals in winter here!! Then during the summer, I get yo watch them help raise their babies.
It's a kind of magic. So simple and so amazing in the end!

As always such a pleasure to watch your tutorials. They are so well structured and I enjoy how calm you sound painting each stroke....makes it seem completely attemptable. Also I love how neatly you handle your brushes. I am all over the place when I paint 😐

Harriet is very very experienced in brush control due to her background of painting tiny tiny things and calligraphy. I'm not proficient in watercolour either, it requires time and practice. I love it so much tho and I keep having a 'go' at it. HARRIET'S TUTORIAL IS FANTASTIC AS it's loose, she's told you what subject to paint, colours to use, brush, composition, and she holds your hand BUT with this one, you don't have to follow her exact brush stroke style. Main thing is water control. I'm gonna go with this self made formula below. Please note I'M NO EXPERT. PLS THIS IS JUST INFORMATIONAL ONLY and DOES NOT REPLACE HARRIET'S EXCELLENT TUTORIAL. (I just thought you might enjoy trying what I'm gonna try, you seemed frustrated.) (I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS YET but I'm hopeful) 😊 Tummy = tea, Wing = Milk, Tail = cream, Black = cream, Eye = butter, Beak = milk, legs = milk, Brown branch = coffee, Black branch = milk, Berries = coffee. If you don't understand there's plenty of water control video's out there, I haven't checked if Harriet has done one or not. There's plenty of good stuff out there thank goodness! 😜

It’s funny … I thought cardinals were more on the blue red colour as I remember from my childhood. But I had a look on line and was truly surprised with their colour. I was born in Canada and now live in Australia. I enjoyed your Christmas card painting. I had a lovely time painting your little robins. I like how you simplified the strokes with the birds. Now that I’ve seen these little beauties I will definitely have to paint them. ✨🎨

I love everything you paint and I don’t mean this as a criticism but you never see 3 male cardinals together. They pair off and the female is quite grayish. Could you paint a female please? I have a pair outside my window. Only the male is all reddish. And Lola is a beauty.
