Plucked cello, a mandolin and a classic jazz voice. Wonderful

A couple of years ago, I watched a video of Ms. Jarosz singing CRAZY at Bonnaroo in 2014. It's a very fun, acoustic cover that features Mr. Smith with an insane cello solo. Unfortunately, the crew in charge of the sound board missed the solo in the mix. So I couldn't believe the irony when I read that "camera issues" caused us to miss Nathaniel's solo.

Thought Sarah's cover couldn't be more perfect with the way her voice mingles so intricately with the cello alone, but Chris' mandolin just took it somewhere even more magical!

Skipped the last verse, which was too bad - the recording is unbelievable (with just the cello). Looking forward to exploring more of her music (especially Dylan covers :P).

Maybe it's because I was listening on my phone, but the accompaniment was too spare. You need the chord progression for the melody to make sense.

Yes, it is because you were listening on your phone. Make sure you give it another listen with proper speakers!

Love this version but I do agree Dan, the chord progression of this song drives the melody, I am usually one who favors stripped down, but in this case a little fuller might have worked better.

Yeah, it's very very gentle, but the thump of the bass notes on the cello fills in the gaps. It's those things little phone speakers deprive us of.

Oh my, I just listened to this again on laptop speakers, it sounds awful this way. But honestly, _all_ music sounds poor on such speakers, unless it's mastered to death - no dynamics, no intimacy, then the kids can listen to it on the phone and still get basically the same thing. - I hope everybody here appreciates that Live From Here does _not_ process their music to death this way!

I adore Sarah, but this cover of an amazing song did not work in my opinion. Give a listen to Sarah's cover of Dylan's "Ring them bells", that really works!

Maybe. But this is not Prairie Home (sadly). And Prairie Home was in no way hipster. I do think Live from Here, is, though.
