Trent, I like the way you had Roberto visually check that the 5th wheel was properly latched to the kingpin. That's the way I ALWAYS did it and taught trainees to do it. There's nothing like "seeing" it to be safe.
I had no idea that I needed videos of towing things in my life but these are far more compelling than I ever imagined. I hope I never need your (or a colleague) services but I hope they all look at your operation as a standard to achieve.
I just love the mentality of some people. "I'm not the one paying for it." You are also not the one getting paid more by your company because you are costing them money.

Gizmo42Rodeo in all honesty his company probably told him to do this to avoid a tow
Ive been watching your videos for a while, and Ive loved every second of them, your polite, understanding, know your job inside and out, a good teacher, helpful to your customers, your company trucks are spotless in everyway, keep up the good work and I look forward to many more hours of your videos
Those tow trucks are amazing pieces of equipment. Impressive engineering.
It nice to see how in most of your videos someone learns something new
Your a good driver Thank you for sharing stay safe 👍🇺🇸😎
throughout of my career I worked for 6 different trucking outfits ....all of them had same policy ...if truck is broke down never separate it from trailer. If it had to be separated it's must be done with approval of towing company and by licensed towing professional.
Haha what was he doing. Good video and your tow truc is a magnificent one.
Very fun videos to watch i usually watch them all the way through some good skills you guys are putting to work out there. Keep up the vids :)
Trucks look mighty nice today, looks like someone has been doing some polishing . Another smart truck driver,
Love the grunting noise when you climb back in your cab. LOL
I learn something amazing & new on videos Trent another perfect job done right.
you are all business. I like your style. keep up the good work.
Keep it up!! Looks like a adventurous job Especially the money pit hahah
I'm a new sub. Love the science needed to get them out of the messes!
Love the channel man. I am currently working on getting my class A hopefully w/ my Hazmat from the military. But I feel like I learn a lot from just watching your videos.
couple of air heads driving a truck lol another good video man
Trent, I apologise for giving you alot of crap, but dude you are a very talented and smart young man. Keep up the good work.

love the videos keep up the great work
Another awesome video Trent, you guys should all have two-way radios with lapel mics to communicate on scenes.
Congratulations on 10000 subscribers. I know how you feel man I deal with your pain everyday.
Got sand? I sincerely enjoy these ride-alongs. I'm too old, poor knees, etc. to even think about jumping in and out of a cab like yours. I can't even help my farmer friend anymore because of my bad knees. Oh well, such is life. Typically, how much would a tow like this cost a person / company? (if you can tell us here, that is)
roberto need more training hope you show him more since he look kind of guy who like to learn new things

Mike Trujillo you will hear stories like this from drivers and tow operators when they come in but actually see it is what makes this so interesting
I was thinking the same think when you were rolling up lol.
thats a hell of a nice pete sleeper looks huge lol
You are very polite and easy with teaching what to do. I love watching what you do! Thank you again! (Wish I could do what you do )
Always love these big truck video's. I have seen truckers with a trailer and two pups just maneuver, back up and unload each one as if it was a single. Never ceases to amaze me the common sense and skill of these drivers! So here I am looking at this video and seeing beautiful spanking new tow truck and semi with hardly a spec of dust on them. But in this day and age with computers and camera's/dash cams, why don't you install a dash cam either in front or behind the plate to easily align with the king pin????? takes the guess work out of it! Have to admit, that is one well equipped heavy tow truck. Very impressive.

Lisa b you don’t need it. You line the whole truck up with the trailer, and unlike a gooseneck or bumper you’ve got quite a bit side to side before you miss the throat of the fifth wheel. If you have to (and this is a baaaad thing to do, great way to break landing gear) hook from not straight on it could help, but if you get into that situation it’s time to chew out the driver who dropped it like that.
Nice video again
Awesome super job
I love that a tow driver is worried about dirty hands lol
You guys kick ass
Trent .How many times did you want to swear doing this job . Daz UK
I like when I see people driving through truck stops that other truck drivers are just strolling through the parking lot.
i seriously could watch this until i cant watch this no more.....in other words....i can watch this a thousand times or more....its that good....sides....i live in Washington State...so i was curious what city the truck was broken down at??? & how far is plaza towing from San Diego, California?
good training day
Info please. Chains around\under 5th wheel?? Hold "air bags"?? What air bags?? Talk to me like I'm a kid because I know nothing. Just a class D having fun watching these vids.
I'd like to see some of these drivers on Australian outback roads.
48:28 he shit himself he thought he lost the remote..lol
Awesome video, Trent! Its so stupid how they thought it was smart to unhook from the trailer.
@adrianspeeder

I'd think they were trying to jump start the reefer.
@TechOut
6 жыл бұрын
adrianspeeder the alternator was bad on the truck why would they be jump starting the reefer it’s running
Or just call local taxi to take u to auto parts store to get set of batteries it'll be lot cheaper than calling a tow service
After watching that...I needed a nap....damn that was tiring....lol
Why didnt u put a snatch block to the front fender pin of the Tractor unit where it was originally parked at side of trailer to pull the truck back Would have gave u enough room to then pull it out from the front with yours
Just a suggestion to make retracting a landing gear easier... dumping the air bags was right, but as soon as you feel the fifth wheel touch the kingpin pull forward a few inches, inflate the airbags, then before coupling, crank until the foot is just barely off the ground. Then couple and finish raising the gear. This reduces the chance of lateral forces making it harder to crank up. Let the truck do the work for you.
Ive been a heavy duty tow/recovery driver for over 20 years and just want to say, Well done, but in my opinion, you could have just blocked the rear wheels, and no digging out would be necessary. It saves a lot of time.I know your training the new guy an all.Just a trick of the trade.I mean no harm.
U ever have a really good day and than theres that one shit that kinda ruines it for you? i feel like this one was yours trent haha
Nice video! Side Note: Driver please let the windows down while backing especially if there’s a ground guide. Ground guide stand on the driver’s side

nashguy207 you need to know what you’re talking about, using the refer to jump start a dead truck is done all the time, kzread.info/dash/bejne/l5WBs7Sjc5vadag.html

Dang, another Carolina Logistics, Candler NC. You guys must have a contract with whoever they got a contract with... That's a long ways.
What portable strobe light do u use
there is something i do not understand , it may sound dumb, but how come a truck like the loggon trucks have to have so many gears, it must be a pain in the ass some times, your all dame good drivers, i watch you all the time, good luck to all,
Nice video

Why are the mirrors on the rear of your heavy wreckers?
Hopefully that reefer's next stop will be the repair shop, it looked pretty ropy...
I would love to train with this guy!
Trent why didn't you use safety chains?
I've got a photo of a stuck bus on the road, the road had turned into a bottomless mud pit wrecker couldn't touch it it, took two bulldozers and a road grader to get the bus out.
Y do they put the def tank on the passenger side of the truck? At least it looks 👀 like it to me.
I rather do this type of towing any day than ice road towing...I be watching the ice road towing from USA/Canada lines and its horrific
Why not hook up a snatch block to the bumper of the the Pete Roberto was driving pull the tractor back and hook it up like that?
Where are you guys based out of and what camera are you using
Customers always think they are helping a ton...but they actually make it a pain.
Hey, your at the same exit as the truck about to roll over video.
That driver did not know what he was doing
If the airbag drives are not chained , will the bags burst upon lifting?
@aussiebloke609
6 жыл бұрын
I _think_ it's to keep the drive wheels from dangling so low, so they don't have to lift as high and put the towed vehicle on such a steep angle. But don't quote me on that - I'm just guessing. :-)
@OverKillPlusOne

It can tear the bags or damage other suspension parts. They’re not designed to support weight hanging from them, but sitting on them.

Carolina logistic I have towed them many times they are right down the road from our shop most are Russians don't speak english
I sub👍
I have people do it all the time. They get stuck then disconnect it always goes bad for them
Looking at the tracks they left in the sand, I can't figure out what they were thinking backing up to that tree or why they unhitched to begin with.

As Trent and the other tow operator Roberto mentiomed , the truck drivers thought they could jump start their tractor with the batteries from the reefer unit on the trailer
@BigDish101

Why not just flag down another truck to jump start it?
Apparently anyone can get licence in there.. . . Asuming either one of those 2 had one.. :D
where are you bases out of ???
Training?
If your driver had pulled forward then backed in at an angle from the street it would of been easier to grab the trailer....just my two cents...

Rip ArmorAll 2018
Guess he’s not used to pulling trailers with a tractor.
I am aFan
these two should be at the rodeo COWBOYS ye ha
Never hook up to the trailer whit dropped air bags 😵
That guy is as green as the strips on his shirt lol
something don't same right on that load. they wanted the trailer gone
why not just used the seat belt for the steering wheel???
he was hooked to a reefer, couple wires would've fixed charging problem. done it before....
You are very restrained. In minutes I would of moved it but I was always in a rush.
I don't get the emphasis on not facing the wrong way. Why is it a big deal to put your vehicle in whatever direction you need to when obviously towing? Edit: I just realized it matters when hooked up to a 30+ foot long vehicle.
If the rookie wants to drop chains on a nice under lift put him on the yard forklift out there in the desert for a week then he'll appreciate nice equipment

BigDish101 No way! At least $1000 for this one. $500 wouldn't cover the labor and the fuel on this job.
Like why would you do that lets just make it harder for you
Those two numb nuts I guess don't know that all they had to do was lock their front axle then they could have got unstuck. Oh well make them pay then maybe they wont do that again...doubt it. I watched the three part saga, that is some neat stuff! but man those cars whizzing by was too close.
