Simple to make, marble puzzle

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Material for this project requires a 7 3/4" piece of knot free 2X4 material, two 1/2" glass marbles and and a piece of 1/8" X 1 1/4" X 7 3/4" plexiglass. First, cut the 2 X4 to 1 7/8" wide and 1 1/4" thick. Slice proximately 1/8" from from each side. Center a
5/8" hole in each end, 11/16" below the top and angled 4 degrees up toward the center, 1 1/2" deep. Cut a 4 1/8" radii, centered1/4" above the bottom. Sand all surfaces smooth and glue the sides in place. From a scrap of wood cut a divider and glue at the center of the radii, between the sides. Next, glue a short plug in the outer end of the 5/8" end holes. Turn the box upside down and center a round headed decorative brad so that it protrudes slightly out of the wood. From the top, place a marble on each side of the center spacer. Lastly, cut and attach a plexiglass lid for the top.
Object is to get both marbles in the pockets at the same time.

I saw it's a puzzle. I like puzzles. One of my first go-to methods, which I was blurting out at a minute in, is 'Spin it!' I haven't gotten past the saw just turning on as I type this, so I haven't seen the solution yet, but that's my guess.

Though there are a few points I would like to mention, first I wish to congratulate you on projecting science in this form. It is not a TRICK it is related to the fact that when a mass is made to rotate there it is given both speed and change of direction. This is called a vector. Now everybody seems to know that when speed changes there is a velocity and when velocity changes there is acceleration and for a body to accelerate there must be a force. Few are conscious of the fact that when a mass changes direction though the speed remains constant, there is a change of direction and so this causes an acceleration hence a force is generated. It is this radial force that pushes the marbles into their respective holes. Toys can be used to depict and project art, science, physics, geometry mathematics, languages, logic and philosophies of logic including topologies. It is such a pity that toys in schools and homes are not presented as teaching aids and the level of the subject being presented will be according to the age of the child . This centrifugal machine has within its shaping all the necessary components for a child to understand how the universe holds together and how the moon does not fall on the earth. The centrifugal effect is balanced by gravity and that is what happens in this machine apart from the fact that gravity is not pulling the marble directly downwards but has the in built slope to give it a smaller pulling down component. This is not a toy and in fact it is a great little machine even explaining the governor for rotational limit control, including the old governor in every telephone set of the old days. If such "toys" enter our schools, many children will grasp sciences and mathematics and physics much more than they do as most schools do not process natural universal logic but ask children to remember man made philosophies. Such toys can be used to explain what is silent and invisible in our universe and it is all around us ,,but the human sensors cannot see them. Congratulations on assisting people to depict the two basic invisible and silent phenomena that hold our universe together.
