Simple Stories in Spanish: Hora de dormir

This sixth season of Simple Stories in Spanish is inspired by requests from my listeners. Life with a toddler can be fun and difficult. That is why routines are so important. When Lily doesn’t take her nap, the rest of the day is rough for her dad, Esteban. Perhaps a nighttime routine with soothing songs will be exactly what they both need to sleep.
This story is told in the present tense. Repeated words and phrases include “dormir” (to sleep), “la siesta” (nap), “lavar” (to wash), “el baño” (the bath), “burbujas” (bubbles), “dedos/deditos” (fingers and toes), and “mecer” (to rock). No matter where you are in your language journey, stories will help you on your way. You can find a transcript of the story and read along at smalltownspanishteacher.com/2...
¡Muchas gracias por escuchar! Thank you for listening, and a HUGE thank you for your support. I really enjoy creating and sharing simple, comprehensible stories in Spanish. If you would like to help me in that endeavor, consider buying me a taco at www.buymeacoffee.com/SpanishT...

I love this podcast! But, i have a question. Who is the target market? Judging from the venue (a podcast) and the content (2nd language learning), it seems as if the target audience would be "adults or teens who speak english and are learning Spanish." Just my guess. Yet judging from the tone, it seems as if you're speaking to 5 year olds. I'm sincerely not trying to be overly critical, i'm just curious. For example, I can understand why you speak slowly in Spanish. That's the whole point. Yet, why do you speak so unnaturally slow and deliberate in English? Doesn't the audience already know English? And we're not kids. Again, I'm guessing the audience isn't five year olds. Five year olds don't download podcasts. (Well, I guess I could be wrong there!). That being said, I love the idea and love hearing the stories in Spanish. Your podcast fills a niche. Most podcasts are either too simple (hola = hello), or the narrators speak too quickly, or they're centered on lessons, which can be...well, boring. Everyone loves stories and these are creative and easy follow. Thanks!

I am happy to hear you love my stories! I understand your point of view. The demographics of my listenership are very varied. I have parents that use my stories for homeschooling. I also have listeners all over the world, many of whom are not native English speakers. I am trying to make my work as accessible as possible, but I will keep your feedback in mind.
