Simple One Launched - India’s Longest Range Electric Scooter - Price, Features & Specs

Almost two years after we first laid our eyes on it, Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has launched its electric scooter, the One. Prices for the Simple One start at Rs 1.45 lakh for the single-tone colours and Rs 1.55 lakh for the dual-tone colour options (all prices ex-showroom Bengaluru, including revised FAME 2 subsidy). This is quite a jump from Simple’s originally announced price of Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru) for the One.
The Simple One is a premium electric scooter that promises the highest range compared to any other electric scooter in the market today. For this, the One gets a fixed as well as a removable battery pack, with a combined capacity of 5kWh, which together promise an IDC range of 212km (while keeping 6 percent battery capacity in the bank). These batteries power a massive 8.5kW motor that makes 72Nm of peak torque, which Simple claims can propel the One from 0 to 40kmph in 2.77 seconds on to a top speed of 105kmph. If that claim is true, then this would also make the Simple One the quickest electric scooter in India as well.
The Simple One is also packed with all the connected features we have now come to expect from premium electric scooters, along with all-LED lighting and massive 30-litre underseat storage space. The Simple One is available in 6 different colours - Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, Grace White, Brazen X (dark grey with red) and Light X (white with red). Deliveries for the Simple One are said to start from June 06, 2023.

After long waiting for Simple, I bought Platina 110 ABS at 90k. I am happy now.
The price seems 30% hike compared to launch price and additional 10% for charger. They cannot call it as affordable electric EV anymore and it's bit higher side for the new brands. They are comparing against reputed brands which is not fair.

@@gokuls9062 their ARAI certified range is 145+ and in city traffic I get a range of about 115 usually in eco mode and most people don't need 100+ km range most people don't drive their scooters for such long distances + ather had the largest charging infrastructure.

@@prathmeshbankar well the thing with EVs has always been and will be the range anxiety,coz unlike ice you gotta calculate youe every move and think about when you gotta charge it Time consuming i.e You are buying a ather simple one to cut down your costs(don't )no matter what you do one can never recover the value of it Resale value of EVs are s thing of concern coz the battery the soul of the machine which it runs on degrades by time doesn't make much sense to replace it before selling it off does it 😂 Now about simple one(ITS GOT A PORTABLE CHARGER!!) Man one can buy some extra portable chargers and take it up that as well There's so much one can do with that Offcourse at a cost If how they said that their key focus is on experience and not just specs I'm betting on it Yet again I'm gonna say outloud India DOESNT NEED EVs it's not profitable for most consumers hybrid is one sensible obvious descision though Ev scooters are like those expensive toys one might wanna own to have fun like 450 and simple one(Ola I don't like that copy paste shit it as no ambitions and dreams attached to it while making lie these set of startups we have in out country , I'm really curious what would companies like simple one and ather would have done if they got that such amounts of funding)
Bogus concept of selling chargers separately! They only have 1 option of charger and they are selling it separately!! Don't promote such 2 wheeler brands and urge everyone not to fall into those gimmicks!

@@kennethcoutinho4439 if the charger is universally compatible, then they should give options, they are giving 230W Charger with scooter, not sure about charging time. Battery cost is 30k for TVS, 50k for hero vida, approximate cost. any how battery life is more and easily it will be run 6 to 8 years, later we shall adjust to latest model batteries.
Just this morning i saw someone driving in Bangalore and i was like wow it looks cool...i literally turn back to see the type of scooty....thank you now i know.
From every angle I can look at it from your video, this "simply" looks like an Ather... 🙂

Even ather is now 1.4L with pro pack after state subsidy including charger And there a huge problem with simple 1 , ground clearance while cornering, its very low

Charger is included only for fast charger u have to pay 13k and the price of 1.45 lakh is after the game 2 subsidy reduction 😢

That "fast charger" is the normal 750W charger that Ola gives. The free charger might be even slower.

I got my Ather 450x with pro pack for 1 lakh 51, along with 750 watt charger.. ⚡️I feel that was the best purchase considering the price of simple one and slash in fame 2 subsidy! ⚠️

Amazing. This is truely the first made in india for indian conditions. This will compete well against bounce infinity and give people that want a swappable battery a choice. Really like the "Hello Kitty" dash design. I am so glad they did not change that. Fit and finish looks really good. With over 1 lakh bookings and a factory that can produce 1000 bikes a week, I expect to see lots of simple bikes in showrooms in the next 3 weeks. When do test rides start for the new model? Simple energy is really pushing the bar in terms of features and deliveries, with rto reg in under 2 weeks. I hope they open the payment window soon. Looking forward to testing the app soon. I hope its available for ios. Thanks for the review. Will helmets be included in Karnataka or separate charge.
I've a daily running of 50kms. Please suggest whether to go for ev or petrol scooter and which scooter brand and model to go for? I'm 6 ft 2 in tall and have a heavy build.

@@peterlobo3206 that's not possible ather 450x fast charger is 750 Watt (same as simple one fast charger) it takes 4.5 hours from 0-80, 5.5 hours 0-100 and Simple has 5 kWh battery whereas ather has 3.7 kWh. Their fast charger would take more than 6.5 hours to charge so obviously their slow charger would be way more than that . Even Ola S1 Pro takes 6.5 hours to charge while having 4 kWh battery.
Well! You know I had booked it, and then cancelled the booking. Since then it has been a year I have been a proud owner of Pulsar 150 TD
Simple one has produced a gud scooter but they r going to lose d competition 😐I mean a ev scooter worth 1.7+ is way too much to pay,plus from June subsidy is going to reduce even more😐

Looks promising. Weight gains, not a sturdy charger cover, front mud guard should be more cover to prevent mud, seperate rate for chargers shoot the price up. They need to introduce another varient with 4kw and 3kw battery varient. All Above all two wheeler ev need to standardised charging port and fast charging options. Need common charging points inside city and suburbs. Cafe day, malls, bp and hp pertol bunks, super market need more common charging points. We dont want free charging on those charging pointsninstead reasonable price and more charging points are needed. Price is little bit high. They need to reduce otherwise it will impact in sales figures.

Price is crazy high, This might not be the right price for mass market, If you compare it with a petrol base model scooter(which everyone will do) you end up paying 60~70k extra for this one, and this extra amount is usually recovered in next 5 years(using this extra amount in filling petrol) assuming moderate riding everyday. so in short this scooter will start to give you benefits only after roughly 5 years, and after 5 years prices for ev scooters will be less, performance and price will be competetive to petrol scooters, so i think buying a scooter which is that expensive in 2023 might not be a good choice. !! It is made for Indian conditions. It also has a swappable battery like bounce infinity. With swappable battery range is unlimited. Great achievement for simple startup.

@@vickykrish95 to be frank I don't drive my 450x more than 50 kms a day or max 60 kms with my scooter. So these battery capacity are just number games if anything more than 100 kms. And I get almost 90 kms in sports mode if ridden like how it's to be ridden. Ather cost has been reduced and this Simple costs almost 1.8 on road with the charger. Everyone has their own definition of value for money. For me the 450X is value for money compared with this because it's a known brand and tested product. Your view might change.
