I love this era of Simple Minds. I do not begrudge their success, but the loss of Derek Forbes and later Mick McNeill had a significant impact on the band.
This is the best lineup of the SM history. I would like to see them all together again.
Derek, Mel, and Mic were the ultimate trio to Burchill and Kerr during the 80s. These 3 gentlemen had represented the coolest sounds and effects. The 80s were awesome because if bands like this. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The best line-up in the world that moment, Mel Gaynor and Derek Forbes
As a teenager I got New Gold Dream - What a classic album - Loved Simple Minds at that time - I used to dress like them and do the dance moves down the local disco - I totally loved the look and the Jim Kerr dance moves.
Simple Minds stayed with me in all my youth. Never forget guys.
Someone,somewhere in summertime…Derek Forbes basslines… enough said
Superbe. J'adore Derek forbes. Très belles musiques
Wow, the days when keyboard players used to play their parts and also when they used to edit the sound themselves during their performances
That was around the corner where I live, but I was only 10 yo🥲😅 - still had to find out about this then already brilliant band!
I wonder how many times I've listened to this song over the years...
WATCHING THIS GEM TODAY 23-5 2023 .40 YEARS AFTER FEELS LIKE TRAVEL IN TIME
At this point, with Mick and Derek, they were a magnificent band.
I love Derek Forbes x
Simple minds music walks with me everyday
Jim perfecting his Scottish/euro 80's accent!
Simple minds the best live band i have ever seen!
Beautiful! thanks for the upload. Good old Pinkpop! no big screens, no big light show, no smoke machines, no mobile phones, just a band a lots of people having fun! I love it! I saw them some time after in the Bernabeu in Madrid. Fantastic band!
I was there, the Torhout/Werchter 1983 festival, with The Eurythmics, Simple Minds, Peter Gabriel and U2...
That was the lineup!!
