QUE HISTORIA!!! Esta canción de 1985, fue creada para ser el tema principal de la película “El Club de los Cinco”. En 1984 Keith Forsey recibió el encargo de componer la música y el tema principal de la película “The Breakfast Club”, un film de adolescentes escrito y dirigido por John Hughes que con el correr de los años se convertiría en una cinta de culto. Un inspirado Forsey, con la colaboración de Steve Schiff, guitarrista y compositor de Nina Hagen, escribió entonces una poderosa y soberbia canción llamada “Don´t You (Forget About Me)”, la cual fue ofrecida en primer lugar a Cy Curnin, cantante del grupo británico The Fixx, quien declinó la oferta. El famoso cantante Bryan Ferry también se negó a grabarla, por lo que Keith Forsey le ofreció la canción a su amigo Billy Idol, pero el rockero-punk también dijo que no. En ese momento Steve Schiff le sugirió a Forsey que le ofreciera la canción a Simple Minds, una promisoria banda escocesa que ya comenzaba a ganar popularidad entre el público británico. Sin embargo, como si fuera una especie de tema maldito que nadie quería grabar, la banda escocesa también se negó a grabar la canción, aduciendo que ellos tocaban y grababan sus propias composiciones. Seis meses después, Keith Forsey todavía no encontraba un artista adecuado para grabar su canción, así que se la volvió a presentar a los Simple Minds, quienes cambiaron su postura per$uadidos por los directivos de A&M Records, su compañía discográfica en aquel entonces y tener la oportunidad de llegar con fuerza en el mercado discográfico de Estados Unidos y apoyar así su inminente gira por esas tierras como soporte del grupo The Pretenders. Grabar la canción llevó sólo dos días, sin ningún esfuerzo. Dijo el cantante: le inventamos una introducción nueva y agregamos el famoso ‘la-la-la’ del final. Nunca esperamos gran cosa de ese tema. Sin dudas, era algo pop, con estilo, Jamás se nos ocurrió que iba a llegar a ser un éxito!!. Esta fue lanzada oficialmente, tres meses antes del estreno de la película “El Club de los Cinco”, trepando de inmediato al número 1 en el Billboard Hot 100. A partir de allí, el single, que destacaba por su ochentero y poderoso sonido, donde destacaban la inconfundible voz de Jim Kerr, los atmosféricos teclados y el furioso sonido de la caja de la batería, alcanzaría el número 1 en Europa y en numerosos países del mundo, logrando para Simple Minds el ansiado reconocimiento internacional y vendiendo hasta la fecha más de seis millones de copias. El videoclip dirigido por Daniel Kleinman combinó escenas de la película “El Club de los Cinco” con imágenes de la banda y obtuvo una inusitada difusión a través de la cadena MTV, siendo nominado en los MTV Video Music Awards de 1985 en las categorías Mejor Dirección Artística y Mejor Dirección. Unfortunately I can't get a backing track for this song - which I need to do my "type" of remix. They tend to do them for "hits" or popular tracks that say tribute acts or karaoke etc. would use. Sorry.

I have been holding back from making any more requests until it hurts!!! But today I came across a song that nobody seems to have attempted a remix of at all, and there is even a convenient Dub version easily available to utilise! The song is Radio by The Members (1982). My extensive collection of excellent remixes (of which your work features prominently) is sadly lacking without a remix of this song!!! P.S great work on this one.

Oh my God, I've been looking for a TRULY good remix of "In the Shape of a Heart" by Jackson Browne (I think that's the correct spelling), from 1986. Can you possibly help me??
