What demands?!! Recording Miami Vice every Friday night w your VCR on time? Making sure your hair had enough hairspray to set a small country on fire? I grew up in the 80's in NYC and I don't recall any hardships that forced me to grow up sooner than I had to. The music was just better. Kids had to go out of their way to discover bands or hang out at Tower Records for hours looking at albums. Today everything is right at your fingertips, instant gratification. There's no fun in that. We had it good!

Best music video with a falcon EVER! Now it's an owl. Even better.😂
30 years old, but as fresh as just-plucked daisy. Immense pop-rock song.
I think the sunglasses, tassled cardigan, owl look is due for a comeback

Simple minds just a brilliant band. Great sound. Guitar drums Jim Kerr. Magnificent voice.
This is one of the rare albums by a band where all the songs were good-no filler.

Youth might not understand... in 1985, this was a MIND BLOWING production of a video. I was there. This is real magic.

Youth today don't need to understand generation loss, or that a Quantel Harry held about a minute of video at a time, or that the cost of the equipment to make this video probably would have purchased a house in Beverly Hills. Technology has brought the price down to the cost a cell phone, democratizing access in the process. These videos are a monument to the amazing people who made fantastic music and technically complicated video possible.

1414yorks Exactly, you needed to be born early to mid 70's max to get the full benefits of 80's music as it came out,...just like me :-D Take Margeret "milk snatcher" Thatcher out of it and I'll happily go back to the 80's, music was inventive and cool made with passion and soul along with great videos, the true birth of video games, Rocky IV and Rambo II, WWF wrestling at It's best,...and of course the rubix cube ;-) Not much fun as an adult in the 80's but magic being a young teen!

It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of Simple Minds or not, this song is legendary.
Took a while to grow on me, but this is my favorite Simple Minds song. The guitar riff, the lady's powerful singing, and his style. It just all comes together perfectly here. Alive and Kicking maybe a close second. The obvious one is great too, but had the benefit of brilliant lyrics and perfect matching with a movie to lift it.
To all the people who thumbs downed: it’s music for gods sake. All music is a gift
I love playing this while jet skiing around Vespucci Beach at sunset. Mind blown.
Love this guy's voice. Bring back the 80's! GTA V remind me of this music.
