Simple life Manhattan: a 90-square-foot microstudio

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

By choosing a studio that measures just 12 feet by 7 feet, Felice Cohen can afford to live in Manhattan's Upper West Side where apartments rent for an average of $3,600 per month.
She pays just over $700 for her 90-square-foot micro-studio. After a bit of adjustment, she now loves living smaller, simpler, and cozier.

And New York politicians did a great job trashing the real estate market in New York so that demand runs way ahead of supply, driving the cost of apartments to these skyhigh rates, thus encouraging the creation of such apartments in the private sector. And useful idiots who wouldn't know a bad idea even if it punched them in the face with a stamp that says, "Bad Idea" elects these politicians and encourages them to make these bad policies.

Some people work a lot and being a few minutes from work is more than worth it. People like to say taking a train to Manhattan from Queens or Brooklyn is 20 mins. It is not... I live 7 miles from lower Manhattan in Brooklyn and sometimes it takes me over 1.5 hours to get to work via train. By car it's no better either if there's traffic and you get stuck for an hour. If it takes me 1-1.5 hours to go each way for work that's almost 3 hours out of the day spent on commuting.
