Thats how they build these structures, the opening do not bug them at all. They are one with nature and don't do thing the way most do. They sleep inside of a bug net at night so they are not in any harm ... They are vietnamese highlanders... This is there ways!

Make a high floor so that the humidity doesn't affect dad? Are you aware that humidity is all around us, not just by the floor. So, what you're saying is false. Go educate yourself, then come back and give them some facts. Something that is actually useful. Are you even aware of what humidity is? It is extremely hot there, and humidity makes it even worse. That mattress would be covered in mildew that could make the father very sick. Getting him sheets to cover up with... possibly, but it wouldn't be to keep him warm. It's already hot! Humidity is wet, it is miserable, and you can't get away from it in a place like that.
