    Reminds me of the central nervous system. It's like neurotransmitters racing along a neuro-pathway. The gray looks like ganglion of nerves and the color is the electrical conduction of the neurotransmitters. Very cool Mely.

    Melt, I found my way to your blowing with straw video. I really like the look of the vibrant colours against a white background; It makes the colours pop. Again I like the look of fewer colours & the fern-like look of the silver paint after drying. It makes me want to try this. Cool video. Anne

    Glad your back love your paintings. and also if you watch your video for your last painting it looks like the line was maybe from bowing the black paint back to the middle with the other colors and as far as I know resin is self leveling so it should fix the line

    very nice, I love the negative spaces in paintings. The previous painting's issue may have been weight. the weight of the paint in the middle pooled and caused it to sag in the middle. Some painters put a brace behind, such as a piece of cardboard. I wouldn't resin it until the canvas is secure. Maybe you could also add black on the edges...(not sure)

  • @saralambert2499
    @saralambert24997 жыл бұрын

    I had that same exact thing happen to my black negative space painting!!! I thought it was because it was on a canvas panel and maybe I hadn't supported it well enough in the middle underneath. I was afraid to fix it bc the paint was tacky and almost dry after leaving it overnight.

    With your question about the black painting getting the edge on the one side.. I get something like that every time I use Liquitex PM. I was using canvas boards I have tried a canvas yet and other say it's because the board warping or surface not completely level?? I wonder if blowing the paint around created it to build up in those area a little more and dried before it could level out completely? Thanks for sharing your work..

    hinddee this happens to me a lot with liquitex PM. The paint puddles. It's an ongoing battle. It happens when I use the blowing technique also. The texture can be interesting.

    to get rid of ledge with resin, do 2 resin pours, 1st just along the edge (the low part) 2nd pour then do the whole thing....you could also tape the edge for the first pour....or 1st do black paint along ridge, let dry and only do 1 resin pour. small problem doing resin on canvas versus on wood panel, is the resin pools from the weight of the resin on a loose canvas. love your work....

    I saw both videos. It seems to me that you put more paint on top of the black one and you were bolder and freer in your approach of it. And the paint spread a lot. For this white one I felt you unsure and scary right from the begining. Smaller pours of paint and little playing with it after. Maybe you wanted to much that this experiment would do something like the other. It is impossible. No two paintings are alike. And no "creative moment" can be the same. In my opinion you did not let this one have its own life. Maybe with being more loose it would have given you something you like...or maybe not. Don't take it bad, it is only my impression. I like very much what you do. I just discovered you this week and I already saw a lot od your videos. You have awsome work. I am even tempted to try this. La chose qui me retient c'est la peur de faire de gros dégâts de peinture dans ma cuisine et d'avoir à tout nettoyer car je n'ai pas vraiment de studio. Déjà que j'ai arrêté la peinture au pinceau car je salope partout...! Keep on the good work!

    I LOVE the effects created with the straw. Do you think that with a 4x4" canvas would be able to get similar effects? Maybe using two colors? I really want to try this with an elementary art class and I'm trying to use supplies I already have. I'd love your thoughts!

    Thank you! I've never worked on that small and these paints tend to spread SO MUCH I'm afraid you would have trouble with 4x4". I'm sure the kids will want to add more paint and if that's the case the results will not be like this at all. I'm telling you it spreads more than you think!
