You really should mention that it should be a metal door. These days a battery packed Sawzall will make short work of a wood door - braced of not.

It's made to slow someone down, Min they hear a saw revving then gonna be on the floor gargling up blood. So what's gonna win, the owner with a gun pointed at the door or some sleezeball with a saw

The door frame will fail with a couple kicks.

That's why you have to build/rebuild your house with these things in mind. Your door is only going to people out if it's solid anyway. The walls of houses that aren't brick or block but plywood and plaster are pretty vulnerable to destructive entry. Windows are even more vulnerable than that. This product, while I find the name stoopid (Bar-icade or hinge barricade would be a better name), is just one layer in a larger onion of home and family protection

@@cameronvanatti6629 Correct. If this is meant for an interior door then it is pointless unless you do those upgrades. For exterior doors a good security screen door would do way more than this.

Good idea but I would want to see a big experienced cop try to kick the door down and fail before I would buy one.

Too bad my mom's door opens in the opposite way,,
