Simple Homemade Tattoo Needle

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is the way I learned to make a tattoo needle. Its not very complicated, pretty much a needle wrapped in thread. But it works very well and hopefully soon I'll be showing you an example of how to use it.
Sorry for the bad quality, I'm still figuring out the best ways to edit and transfer video to my page. But thanks for watching!
Let me know if you have any questions. As usual all comments are welcome.

    Also I know I said i'd get a video up of me doing it but I've been a bit distracted since I posted this. Plus I'm still considering what piece I want to use for the sample. You never want to rush into a tattoo. I will really try to get at least a short sample filmed this weekend, though, and posted this week so you guys can see.

    Well I'm not sure about my next tattoo video. I was hoping to do one of me actually tattooing after this one but its taken longer than i expected. I've been planing out, and making sure I want, the next one I'm going to do and that has taken quite a while. But eventually I will have one up. It sort of depends on how my drawing skills progress, since I draw the tattoos on myself. Thanks for watching though man

  • @TrailBlazer5280
    @TrailBlazer528011 жыл бұрын

    It mostly depends on where you're applying the tattoo. Certain places on your body will be much more sensitive than others. But an easy way to find out is to go take a needle and test it yourself. Usually, though, if your making dense lines the skin will go numb eventually.

    Thanks Trippy! I appreciate the feedback I think it is water based but once it dries it won't just dissolve like water colors. Take it from me, it can be a pain to clean up. I haven't tried any other colors actually but I assume they will work just the same. Its possible colors will fade differently than plain black, but I'm really not sure. It'd be worth a little research. And if you do a tattoo, Id love to see it.

  • @TrailBlazer5280
    @TrailBlazer528011 жыл бұрын

    Actually thats pretty much exactly how tattoo inks were first made. I think some are still made that way. When an ink says its carbon based, that means soot, ash. Burned material. That's how you get the black color often times. So Kiran, while I'd be very careful doing it, you could technically make ink that way yes. You'd be doing it like the ancients :)

    You should be able top get it at any art supply store or craft stores. Its called India ink, its a specific style and many brands make it. I'd look around online and see what people use but you can use a lot of different types. I used the cartridge for a fountain pen once and even a standard ball point pen once. Though the ball point pen ink might not be very good for you and I don't think it stays very long.

I'm GLAD this video was here, because I would like to try this on myself and am willing to accept any consequences... Thank you Blazer

    Well it depends on where you are doing it. I think the wrist bone area would hurt more than like you forearm, for example. The skin is closer to the bone and that tends to hurt more. But it does go numb after a little while of you are making dense lines. I would just get a needle and do it without ink to test and you can see. but it does hurt, you kind of just have to it. Let me know how it goes!

    its not mandatory but It should allow you to do more pokes per dip if you use the the thread. As for the ash, I'm not really sure. I believe india ink and similar inks are made from something that has been burned in the absence of oxygen, so i doesn't actually burn away but turns totally black. idk though, I wouldn't recommend it without doing a fair amount of research.

    No not unless you get laser surgery. However, if you intentionally make shallow pokes it will probably wear off. I think skin naturally gets rid of impurities. Thats why you have to make sure you get deep enough if you really want it to be permanent. Don't bank on this though, i'm no expert im just going off what I've experienced.

  • @fitethis

    Seeing how the only proper safe way to sanitize that would be in an autoclave I doubt its sanitary. Seeing that autoclaves are around $4,000. Also its a sewing needle, not cleaned after made or sealed air tight. Also last time I checked they weren't made out of surgical grade steel. So yes there are plenty of problems and I've seen many. Working at a tattoo shop Im the one who gets to fix all these little things and get the calls on what to do since there is a huge infection on their arm now.

    Amber Joy Yes. Stick and poke has been around forever. The ink is the problem sometimes...Pen ink will stick around for a long time but can fade away after time, Also infections are usually because the needle was not sterilized or the ink was toxic. Look for non toxic ink or make your own ink. It’s not that hard and not expensive.

  • @TrailBlazer5280
    @TrailBlazer528012 жыл бұрын

    I didn't really explain it. You basically dip your wrapped needle in the india ink and poke it into your skin as deep as the exposed portion of the needle. You can go deeper or you may need to press harder (so the skin will be dipping in quite a bit) depending on the region. Repeat this a bunch of time to create a solid line or whatever you're doing. If its too shallow the ink will wear off really quickly so make sure to really poke it. It sort of takes a little trial and error :)

    India ink has a more permanent ink structure. Most other inks are readily changed by the body or fade with access to sun. You can also use "archive quality" inks used for quil pens, but you have to realize ink that looks black could actually be the blue/black ink and it will look different than india ink which is black like pitch or hell fire. India ink is a type of ink, not a brand

    Do NOT use pen ink. Make sure to use real tattoo ink..unless u want it to get infected 😐
