Without brackets this can be worked out with triangle being equal to 9

Triangle = 1. 2 × Circle = 10, so circle = 5. 5 x square + square = 6 square = 12, so square = 2. 5 x 2 - triagle x 5 = 5, so 10 - 5 = 5 triangle, so 5 = 5 triangle, so triangle = 1.

For (3) divide both sides by the common factor (circle) to simplify to square-triangle=1
